![]() New 1-on-1 : REDLINE by Dan Hauss Posted by Jon Raiker at 04:56 pm October 11, 2008 As is tradition, theory11?s 1-on-1 training section was updated last night with a new video from the mind of Dan Hauss - REDLINE. Dan Hauss makes his theory11 debut with REDLINE. A real Chapstick is shown all the way around, and the cap is removed and held in your left hand. In the blink of an eye - literally - the cap is back on the Chapstick. Two versions of the effect are taught in intricate detail on the streets of New York City. See the details HERE

Dan Hauss has very gimmicked, poorly assembled, simple tricks. His tricks can be made to be amazing, but you can't perform them the way he teaches or performs. He is a little bit dull (well, REALLY dull) and his lack of a personality and monotone voice makes me wonder how he ever broke onto the magic scene in the first place. When you pay for a Dan Hauss product, you pay the price of a magic DVD while only getting a singe, very limited trick.
Not to mention that he is the worst teacher I have ever seen. Flow - Good effect, occasionally useful, not worth the price of a full DVD, as the teaching on the DVD is useless. Sleeping Queen - Simple, old effect done slightly different. Not very shocking. You need good presentation skills to make this effective. Again, terrible teaching, terrible value. Redline - The only thing this has going for it is the price (by comparison to the others.) The effect is good the 1st time, but if you do it more than once or twice, you will be caught. This is all the Dan Hauss I can put up with. His tricks are good to know how to do, but not worth purchasing.

I agree about redline. I carry it around because it is, after all, a chapstick, and if people are standing around and i'm using it as chapstick then i'll show it off, but otherwise it just sits in my pocket. It is good, though. but you CAN'T repeat it.

Really? I didn't figure it out when I saw the video, and I've never had a spectator figure it out. I think it's a great, semi-impromptu effect that I always carry around. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good effect with something other than cards.

I saw Dan do this life and it is a quick flash for a cool opener. It is one of those effects that isn't an effect, it's like a passer by thing, as DG describes his V.I.S.A. effect on Symphony. It's not a showpiece, it's just something flashy to do if someone asks you for that item. And yes presentation is everything for this. He played a lot with his head movement, so make sure you help the trick by REALLY following the things with your head
