This is an extremely good DVD. Most of the content is nice, and all of the tricks I can see myself using at one point. Though the aces one is pretty lame as far as a stand-alone trick. It is more of a production, and I have those at a dime a dozen. The fourishes are phenomenal, though you better know how to sybil, revolution, and (for the love of god you should know this one by now) swing cut, or it will be very difficult for you.

Hellz yes these DVDs are amazing. I got both, and the content is awesome. My only gripe is that d+m is pretty bad when it comes to teaching flourishes. He just does the flourish slowly, then expects you to be able to follow along. A pause between each move would be nice, but that's not enough to put off purchasing this. It's an amazing set. I give it TWO Mountain Awesomes. Pick it up if you haven't already.

I see what you mean with the slow motion learning method, but most of the cuts he used were already basic cuts. For example, as soon as he started a sybil, it was clear to me I needed to do one, so I had no problem following along at more than sufficient speed. On some harder ones though, like Mayhem (which is freikin awesome - top pack retention!) I had to rewind many times to find where the fingers go.
I like to remember back to Devo's teaching of the impossible stack cut on XB. He went VERY slow SIX (6) times at all different angles, I could do it without ever having to even rewind. Though this D+M method is harder to learn, it is still most certainly learnable. They are definitely worth getting.

I've seen the Mystique part and I like it. Nothing special in my opinion, but some of the stuff is quite nice.

Awesome material contributed by Daniel Madison. The tricks inside are simple & direct. It gives you more opportunity to focus on your presentation.
Angle Zero has to be by far my favourite effect from the entire video. |
