I am not familiar with the double cross version but I have both exile and one by Sans Minds that both do the same things. Exile uses a somewhat dangerous chemical to erase the ink. Sans Minds is better , in my opinion, because it uses no harmful chemicals to erase the mark from your body, or depending on routine, that of the volunteer. The placing of the final permanent mark (it need not be an "x") in the other person's hand, or on any other exposed and accessible body part, is done by the same or similar method in all of these.

Not to tip anything to those not in the know: That final mark part is similar to Houdini's Last Word effect by Frank Kay, which predates all three of these by a decade or more. Nothing vanishes in the Kay version. In that sense, these three are a different effect from his, despite the similar method used in the appearance. For any not knowing the placement method; Think of the old "x' or initials on a sugar cube "chestnut" on a very slightly higher tech level. Or go back to your grade school art class and think a step above the potato or block printing you learned there. Enough or maybe too much said?
