![]() In early December of 2009, we received a rough, raw video of an unreleased effect. The video was by a magician named Eric Ross, and the effect was entitled CRUSH. What we witnessed was a miracle. You focus your attention. You stare with intent and precision. And suddenly, and slowly, the bottle begins to CRUSH. They hear it. They feel it. It happens without warning, entirely under your control. The DVD teaches TWO complete methods, one of which requiring NO gimmicks of any kind. Perform it with a borrowed bottle. A Pepsi bottle. A water bottle. Any bottle. Hold the bottle in your hands. Put the bottle in your spectator's hands. Put the bottle on the table. The choice is yours. It CRUSHES. The DVD was shot on location in New York City. Both methods are tried, true, and work in REAL environments. Don't want to carry around a gimmick? You DON'T have to. CRUSH is suitable for close-up, parlor, or stage performance, and via a combination of methods, is workable for just about ANY environment. __________________________________________________ ___ Want to know MORE? Listen to the roundtable discussion podcast posted this past weekend with Eric Ross discussing the effect in complete detail. Over 150 questions were submitted in three short hours, and we chose the best of the best. Listen to it now. One of the most exciting effects of this past year will be released in less than 48 hours. Check back Wednesday at 11pm EST for the release. Where to get it? Once it is released, you can pick yours up at Theory11 - theory11 Tricks: CRUSH by Eric Ross |

Just a little correction to the title. This is an effect by Eric Ross, not Eric Jones... different guy

Correction made,
My apologies haha. There was someone asking about an Eric Jones lecture and I was responding to that while I was posting this. Damn dyslexia! Thank you

So . . .
I was wrong about what the gimmick is. lol. It happens. But, I do know the ungimmicked version and I know that you can prepare the ungimmicked version about 30-40 minutes before performing and still get a pretty good effect out of it. I personally had a bottle prepared for the effect sitting on my desk for 40 minutes and then I performed CRUSH and it worked perfect for me. I am sure that the sooner you do the effect after preparing the bottle the better, but I was trying to see what type of time frame I had to work with. Messing around with the ungimmicked version of the effect has shown me that CRUSH might very well be worth the $29.95 you will spend on it.

the Ungimmicked version has been around for a long time... nothing new... or groundbreaking really.
the gimmicked version is good for performers. people who perform and know they are going to perform. it's not for someone who wants to crush a bottle at school. or that lot.. me being a professional performer, i find it effective

This has got to be the best magic effect I have purchase so far this year. After watching the teasers and waiting for the release, I made sure to buy one the moment they were made available.
The way this effect is accomplished is incredibly easy, but hits like a freight train. Simplicity in effects like these make them some of the most amazing effects people have ever seen (for me at least) and it's something so simple and very creative, makes Crush an amazing versatile effect. Plus the fact that there's the gimmicked and ungimmicked versions of the effect, and both of them can be borrowed, which is another WOW factor for the spectators. Personally, I love doing the ungimmicked version a little bit more than the other version for a couple of reasons. 1. Effect can happen in the spectators hands 2. You borrow the objects. 3. 100% examinable. 4. Instant reset. Sure, the ungimmicked version is not quite as strong or having a dramatic crushing effect. But what that lacks makes up for in the ability to have the spectator(s) really participate though out the effect, and people will swear you have some sort of ESP power to able to do it. Then I'll have a spectator wave their hand up and down on the water bottle, and it begins to crush and now the rest of the spectator(s) think that the spectator who helped me, must have the same ESP powers as I do! This is just an absolutely amazing effect and is something i will always, always have with me whenever I am out performing because it never fails to disappoint. |
