Listen to this: Whilst the performer's back is turned, two participants each look at a card from the deck. The selections are free choices and different every time. The deck is then shuffled and dropped into the performer's empty pocket. As each person merely thinks of their card the performer produces it from his pocket! All without a single move!!

But there's more! Check this out: The deck is fairly shown front and back at the start of the effect. The selections really are genuinely free and from any part of the deck. The participants handle the deck throughout. The effect may be instantly repeated and the selections are different every time. The deck is self-contained, nothing extra is hidden in the performer's pocket or added or removed at any time. The deck is genuinely shuffled before being placed in your pocket. If you like, it may be placed in one of the participant's pockets and yet you can still locate the selections! For the 'mental' performer, you can simply name the two selections without producing them.

The Secret:

There is a set up to the deck. You get about 20 pairs of cards and make it into your deck. So it could be set up like

AH AH 2D 2D 9C 9C Etc

But you get 20 pairs and make it into your deck and thats all you have to know.

Before you start the trick kind of riffle through the cards showing that they are all different without saying that. It is very hard to notice from a quick riffle that the cards are set up. Then you tell the spectator 1 that you are going to turn your back and they are going to pick an odd number 1-40 and then deal that many cards down and remember the card they landed on. Then replace the rest of the deck on top of it. Because you have pairs and they picked an odd number when you replace the rest of the deck on top, their card is now on top. Now you say to spectator 2 that you will turn your back and have them choose an even number 1-40 and then deal that many cards down remembering the card that falls on their number and then replace the rest of the deck ontop. So when they deal down the first card it will be the first spectators card then once they get to their number and replace the rest of the cards on top the card that they chose pair will be on top. so now the spectator 1s card is on bottom and spectator 2s card is on top you then take the deck and place it in your pocket. you tell the spectator that you are going to reach in your pocket and take out 2 random cards. you reach in and take the top and bottom cards. Then reveal the cards to the spectator enjoy!
