I just received my 'Nailed' DVD from Jay Sankey. I ordered this after watching a promo video and after I did that I started to doubt my wisdom of buying it. After viewing the DVD and working with the gimmick, I think this effect is well worth the $20.00. I will be doing it live for the first time tomorrow. This is a very simple working card trick that will really cause a magical moment.
The effect is basically a two-card transposition with a twist. "You introduce a very unusual prediction: a color photograph of the Four of Diamonds nailed to a wooden table. You insist that, "in a moment -when your freely select a card- it will in fact be the card in the photo." The spectator is asked to hold onto the photo, but when she selects a card it is found to be the King of Clubs, not the card in the photo. To right matters, you do the truly impossible by causing the King of Clubs to change places with the Four of Diamonds inside the photo! And get this- everything can be immediately examined!" Jay Sankey has come up with a real winner this time! Sankey Magic Inc. - NAILED! or Nailed (with DVD) by Jay Sankey - Trick

It looks like a good effect.
I am going to look more into this. Tell me how you like it.

The reaction I get when I perform it has always be great. It is very simple to do.
I've had people come up with some pretty complicated ways of explaining the trick. Some people examine the picture and try to see if the card peels off and others think that it is the heat of their hands that changes the picture. It is not a trick that you can repeat right away especially with the same group of people. I highly recommend this effect by Jay Sankey.

As magicians we often look for and see things that are not obvious to the layman. Sometimes we have to try to see the effect as a layman would see it. Sometimes on Sankey's videos he does tend to be a little obvious but I think he is just trying to his effect.
Sankey's effect here is really just a two card transposition. I don't do it exactly like him and I don't try to. I have my own favorite forces and passes that I prefer to use.

I see that Jay has released an updated version of 'Nailed' for $20.00. For a short time it comes with two gimmicks. Again, I would highly recommend this effect for a good twist on the two card transpo. This has always been a crowd pleaser for me.
