Let me start off by saying why I am such a fan of Kevin Parker?s effects. Its practical magic. Why do I say practical? Because they can be done using items that you can find around you. Everyday items. No special gimmick that is exclusive only when you buy the effect. The gimmicks can be made with household items. That?s what I love about it. You don?t have to own expensive gimmicks that if once damaged or lost means you have to buy a new one. With Kevin Parker?s effects, you can just make another one in a matter of minutes!
Which is why his releases are really bang for your buck if not even priceless! Everyone is going on about Sean Beard?s KAOS over at ***********. But I haven?t heard of anyone mentioning about this effect by Kevin Parker. It is literally a real card or at least a piece of a card thru a window. You can visually see it jump to the other side of the glass. To me, it is at par with the likes of KAOS if not better. Remember, when it comes to Kevin Parker?s effects it is HIGHLY VISUAL! There should be like a warning on them that may cause your spectators to drop their jaws on the floor or bolt out the door! Hahaha! This effect is called? EDGE It is not a studio produced video but again I?d like to remind you all, don?t undermine the effect. Kevin is still able to relate all the necessary information and teach the effect effectively. I?m guessing that by doing this, he is able to keep the cost of the effect low and affordable and since it all comes in a download, you get your video as soon as you make payment for them. Cool innit? The setup? No card thru window gets any easier than this. Let me tell you that. No elaborate setup. Very simple and easy to prepare and perform. Trust me. If you are a magician. You will have all the tools that you need to prepare for this effect. No special cards or special windows. Keyword: SIMPLE! Remember, sometimes that best effects are the simplest ones. Do I need special or gaffed cards? No you don't need special or gaffed cards. Got an old deck that you don't mind sacrificing? Perfect! Normal cards ladies and gentlemen. Normal cards. The effect does require you to *rippp!* tear cards though. Hence the necessary sacrifice. Hehehe. Do i need a special window? Is there such thing as a special window? Well, this is not a concern. Any window will do. Car window, house window, all can except for Microsoft windows! Hehehe... ok bad joke tongue.gif Do I need a special anything at all? As mentioned earlier, if you are a magician you'll have the necessary tools to make the 'small' gimmick. When I say small I mean small. It'll fit even on your nail! You can carry it around with you anywhere you go. Ok this is a CTW, where do I put my spectators? Just like any other CTW, your spectators must be on the same side of the window as you are. They can't be on the other side of the window where the card penatrates to. I personally had a crowd of 8 or 10 people and performed this effect without any problems. I performed this on a glass wall so you can imagine the angles. Do I end up clean and show my spectators the card? The video will teach you how to clean up which is almost instantaneous. But if you do so, you will need to remake your gimmick which takes like what, 5 minutes tops? Here is what is said about the effect on the website: Magician displays one card with its top corner torn and barely hanging on. Magician puts his empty hand around the other side of a glass door or window, keeping it there with its fingers spread wide open and palm visible. The other hand taps the card against the opposite side of the glass, and the card's top corner is visually seen to fall off the card into the hand on the other side - passing right through the glass. Impossible. *visual, extremely *unbelievably easy to do *can be performed on any glass window or door, even a car door EFFECT: Really visual and believe me it will get the reactions PREPARATION: Real simple as long you 'got' what it takes METHO Practical and clean but you start off dirty (if you're quick)DIFFICULTY: I'd say 2 out of 5 COST: USD17
