to be honest, I'm not a fan of non-blue or red backs on cards..meaning that I hate ellusionsit and t11 decks. THey just look so gimmicked!

Aaaah...but there lies the beautiful double bluff...who would make a gimmicked deck LOOK gimmicked? So it's not gimmicked. So it is. So it's not. And so on, ad infinitum...

Does anyone know if they hold powder well? Or is this generally a bad idea because the backs are black? haha

Man..I'm really torn about this deck. I really like the design, but the apparent flimsyness has me worried. How long does this deck typically last for you guys?

I would respectfully disagree with the criticism that these cards are flimsy.

I've been using a deck of Guardians for about a week now and it doesn't show any more wear or tear than you would expect from a normal Bike deck. In fact, when I first got these, I opened them alongside of a brand new Red Bikes for comparison and frankly, I found them to be VERY similar. Fanning and the like seems to be slightly better on the Guardians, but basically I think if you like Neo-Gothicish design and you don't mind regular Bikes then go for it.

Just another note on these, the fact that the box and the overall design just seems like a modern "skin" for the classic Bike design leads me to feel that these look decidedly UNGIMMICKED. Right down the the Cincinatti, Ohio etc. on the box. And of course they can be handed out for inspection. Everyone I've used them on just assumes them to be a sexy deck. Which IMHO they are.

I think what Machiavelli means is that the deck is not as strong or lasting as a typical "E" deck like the Ghosts, Tigers et cetera. Many reviews have been done, and they tend to agree that Guardians can't compete on that front. They might be as good as bikes, but bikes can't compete quality-wise with decks like the Ghost.

Of course, the Ghosts cost a massive amount of money.

Did you know, the backs of the cards aren't symmetric. if you order them and turn one card over, you can see which card it is fanning them.
