Effect.
The performer visually pushes a real coin through the bottom of a real glass bottle, leaving it inside. They watch it melt through the bottle's bottom, leaving your hand and falling into the bottle. They don't see it just 'appear' in the bottle, they watch it melt through. The bottle is then handed to spectator for inspection and to keep. They won't find any holes or gimmicks anywhere on the bottle. Cost $17 to download Difficulty (1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used, 4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only) 3 A few very simple sleights. Review There are a lot of people that do the entire slam a coke cap into the bottle routine and this one blows that trick out of the water. The concept is great. I was able to do it within 15 minutes of playing around with it. Would be a great trick to do impromptu. The gimmick is very easy to make and can be kept in your pocket or even wallet so that it can be performed anywhere. The presentation of the trick presents itself with great opportunities to ditch the gimmick and do all the necessary moves HOWEVER, the video for the trick is extremely amateur. It’s the quality of something you might find on youtube. Kevin keeps saying “ok” over and over which really gets annoying to me. But he gets straight into the teaching and covers all the points very well. Overall I think this is good trick, but poor video overall. I'll give the video 7/10 because of the quality. But the trick itself is great, 10/10 It's a simple but very effective trick. Get it from his site k:evin p:arker p:roductions Last edited by rib007; 10-29-2008 at 04:46 AM. |

Passing Thru is a great coin into bottle effect. Yes, it takes a bit of practice for a couple of the steps (if you have trouble palming coins and cards) but it is well worth it. So many coin into bottle effects are wham! bamm! there it is. In this effect they see the coin slowly melt into the bottle and then it can be freely examined by the spectators.

I did this trick at UMASS campus a few years ago and damn near gave about 15 people a mental issue all at once as I walked away.
this is prolly the easiest and most well thought out bottle penetration I have seen with such mind blowing results because they SEE and HEAR it go in.. clean up is easy because when u hand the bottle out the spectators are seriously crumpled up inside their own heads trying to figure out what just truly happened. great trick I havnt done it in a while but I have been carrying the gimmick around alot lately looking for a perfect bottle.

I plan on doing a series of coin through bottle effects at my show next Tuesday evening. I'll start with the simple gimmicked bottle, I'll follow that with 'Passing Thru', then Wayne Houchin's 'Sinful'
coin through can) and I'll conclude with 'Prohibition' (signed coin and glass bottle.) I love doing the same effect by using different methods. It keeps the spectators attention.

Great effect. I discovered that intead of using white out to "disguise" the gimmick I found a UPC Code on a soft label and cut it out, added that to the gimmick and used that. It's a very subtle detail but really makes a big difference. Also found that if you display the coin by tipping the bottle neck down just a bit you don't have to worry about a "premature exposure".
I agree, the video could be better BUT...after you see the way the gimmick works you really don't need a flashy video. All in all I give the trick a rating of 7 out of 10 |
