Heya!
Exo.Rant-Review of "Fire in the Hole" by Huron Low... Alright, first, let me just clarify that I've never really been a fan of Torn & Restored (T&R) tricks EXCEPT for Daniel Garcia's "Torn". I've found other T&Rs to be unfair... Not visual... Too similar to "Torn"... And sometimes no fun to do or learn. "Torn" was the only piece-by-piece T&R I ever bothered practicing... And I assumed this would be the case for the rest of my 'magical' life. After watching "Fire in the Hole" (FitH) by Huron Low... My previous statement still stands... ![]() NO!! Don't get me wrong there! "Torn" is a piece-by-piece restoration! FitH IS NOT (And Daniel Madison's "RIP" isn't either... And that's another one I'm quite happy to do!)!! FitH takes the usual plot of T&R... And then, for lack of better words... It's like a T&R "...drinking gasoline after smoking down all the CRACK!" (Tudor 200 . Literally! The effect? A card is folded in half and signed MULTIPLE times (4 times I believe) on the face and back... A chosen signature is cut out with a knife and placed in your pocket, leaving you with a 'window' card. You stick a 'time bomb', a piece of paper comprised of nano molecules, to the hole... Proceed to pull out a lighter... And upon igniting the 'bomb', the hole of the card is VISUALLY restored "...in a swirl of flames..." (Low 2007)!!!!! The effect is really quite impossible to describe... Visually, I've never seen anything that's quite as startling as this piece of magic. Aight... I won't bore/excite you with my hyper-ness over this effect... I'm sure you've already seen the demo, or WANT to see the demo. Getting straight into the trick... FitH uses an easy-to-make home-made gimmick that's a walk in the park if you've been trying to create Bich's "TnR" gimmick. You'll waste one gimmick everytime you perform this trick, but heck... It's worth it... And fast to make too! 'Time bombs' are easy to find from any magic shop... Don't worry about busting $$$ for nano-tech or any other technological advancement. Handling-wise, multiple variations are taught by Huron in his Singaporean accent (Yeah... Home-town buddies! Woohoo!)... There's really something for everyone here on this DVD. He teaches variations for restoring the card with or without fire (And both look EQUALLY as amazing!). The apparent fairness when signing the card plays a major role in this trick... I can't begin to fathom how he thought it out! Simply ASTONISHING... The procedure might take a while to get down, but after you know it, you KNOW it for good... Trust me, you'll be using this constantly if you're daring enough to pull off a MIRACLE during your performances. Bare-Bones Bottom Line... You should already have this even before reading this review... What on EARTH are you waiting for? The mechanics of this trick is almost impossble to figure out... I had a slight idea about the gimmick when I first saw it, but after watching FitH, I was nowhere NEAR what the gimmick was and on top of that, I would NEVER have achieved the whole handling. This is my kind of magic... Fast, visual, MASSIVE impact... A piece that I'll be putting into my repertoire someday in future, once I've practiced it enough. On Exo, this jewel is a mere TWO links... ... .. . ... And you're still here reading? ![]() Feel free to comment or 'spar'... I'll reply as soon as I can... J References... (Sorry to make this so 'formal'... )1. Low H. (2007) "Fire In The Hole" 2. Tudor B. (200 "Show Off Vol. 3: King of Cards"

Can you hand out the restored card? I'm kind of BLAH on effects that aren't really examinable. I love Torn for that specific reason. Any way, great review, sounds like an awesome effect!
