Default Tally-Ho Viper

The Tally-Ho Viper is a pretty darned good deck. It's got a nice design, looks amazing with the gray and red lettering, fans moderately well, and smells nice to. (Mmmmm... That "fresh out of the box" smell.)

So... Onto how I review, with pros and cons!

Pros
Good fanning
Nice design
The design for the Hearts are close to straight when the two halves come to a point (Essential for the Disappearing Ace trick)
Pretty easy to palm cards
Has the "7 of diamonds" barcode.

Cons
The outside box has, in my opinion, many flaws.
  • For one, when you take the sticker off to open the deck, some of the black ink comes off the box. This put me off immediately. It's not completely noticeable, but the box is perfect anymore...
  • Another is the fact that it says *********** on the bottom, and it is very noticeable.
  • Cards are kinda slippery, makes it sometimes hard to fan
  • Cards are real stiff, it's hard to shuffle or do a spring.

With all that being said, I think that I can give this deck an 8, maybe 8.5 out of ten. Okay, But not absolutely amazing.

I think that they are the best cards you can get from ellsionist. And they're definetly better than the tigers.

I just ordered me a deck of Tally-Ho Vipers and a deck of Ghost. I cannot wait until they get here. Out of those two decks which one do you think is better?

Nice review, the deck seems pretty cool the way you mentioned it. I don't think Ink coming out of the box will bother me though.

Is there some major differences between bicycles and tally-ho's.. I've never tried tally-ho's been more of a bicycle man. I think i have to get one just for testing, as well as one deck of bees.

Tally-Ho's are *supposdely* better for XCM and flourishes.

I dunno, I prefer Bikes, myself. It's really a matter of opinion.

Oh, and Tally-Ho's are more expensive.

I played a poker game with a brand new viper deck and they were trashed by the end... don't do that! I was an idiot and should have just used my 1.50 bicycles!

I love the vipers, but I still can't perform with a black deck. People get suspicious when I pull out a ghost deck because of the looks. Of course, I do mostly magic so for xcm, I guess it doesn't make much of a difference.

Well it all comes down to what your using them for, and personal preferance. If your using the cards for magic, you will most likely find that the Ghosts have more pro's that the vipers: Cheaper, look less like a trick deck, edges won't chip and show white marks, ghost gaff deck available etc.

Vipers and ghosts are nice, but their finishes are actually a downer when it comes to CARDISTRY since it is really slippery, and unless you are just doing XCM tis not really a pro. For FLOURISHING the extra slippery finishes aren't a bonus cause the cards become harder to handle when doing cuts.

Its truly all about your tastes and what you will doing with them, personally I save the $8 and rock normal bikes or tallys all the time. I do have the E decks, but I don't really use them for anything...
