? So does that mean that the M5 is basically a very strong magnet attached to your wrist, and that any old magnet (like one from China) strapped to your wrist will work?

Or is it just some random post?

I wouldn't hold it up to your head, either. Who knows what a powerful magnet could do to the electrical signals in your brain.

Oh, and can you turn off the magnet, or is it always magnetizering things?
After i got it , i was a little disappointed at how simple it is to make but nowhere nere where i live sells powerful magnets , if you can sew a little and can buy powerful magnets where you live do that . but you do get a few wee goodies with the kit , see the review for details .

I would love to get an M5, but it's too pricy for me right now, maybe I can save up!

I almost took the plunge on this one but after reading the reviews here and a few other sites it does seem a bit overpriced. You can get the magnet here:

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BY0Y08

My wife is pretty handy with a sewing machine and I am going to have her sew me up a packet for it or just get a good sweatband and sew it into it. I have read the sack that comes with the M5 from E is a little flimsy.

I have found the magnets on Ebay with a little bit of searching, but the site above sells them for roughly the same price. Hope this helps someone out.

I do have one newb question, what can you use for shimming material?

My only problem with the M5 is that the magnet is way too big.

Guys, the M5 magnet IS a bit too big and if you put in a bit of effort and try to improvise, you will notice that there are plenty of other places that you can plant the M5 and make it work, eventhough it's too big.

For example, there's always your knee or your ankle. If you're having trouble to find elastics or tape that are strong enough to hold a huge piece of magnet there, you can go to your local sports show and get a knee brace/ankle brace that can be used to hold the magnet in place. I use an Umbro knee brace that you see footballers(or soccer players) put on their knees to prevent injury. It's tight but that's the whole point and that'll be strong enough to hold it in place.

Another thing is if you have a certain place where you always do your stuff, you can plant the magnet there in advance and it'll be there whenever you want to perform. Of course, I wouldn't recommend you put it in a public place or else you might lose it. Maybe you can tape it under your desk in school? Or dining table? Keep improvising

For those of you who are looking for one of these, the heart of the M5 system is basically a very large block neodymium magnet. You can buy these online much cheaper at www.supermagnetman.net
Not only can you get the big block neos there, you can get some very thin disk magnets for making your own magnetic cards, some really small ones for shimming objects, and you can buy PK rings at a fraction of the cost of the Wizard ring.
For the cost of an M5 system, you could buy the large magnet, a couple of PK rings and a pile of smaller magnets and still have money left over. Check them out.

(I am not affiliated with the company, I have bought several of their magnets though including PK rings)

You just need to be careful when performing as well. Ive seen people get stuck near fridges chairs, tables. They were doing something completely different and suddenly you see them trying to pull their arm back. It does have some great applications though and there are a few books out there that shows what you can do. At one time I think *********** was going to put out a dvd.
