Henry Sugar is a devastating mentalism effect that uses nothing more than a regular deck of cards.

A spectator repeatedly shuffles the deck, and yet you repeatedly "see" cards that they are merely looking at. The three phase routine builds until you eventually reveal a card that the spectator is thinking of.

There are no sleights, no memory deck work, no switches, no gaffs. The spectator genuinely shuffles the deck twice during the routine. No maths, marks, or complicated calculations.

When I first saw the method to this trick, I instantly thought "Oh dear. This looks so naff." But I still wanted to see how bad it really was. So I performed it on my sister. And instantly, I converted. I realised I had a REAL winner on my hands. A trick so deceptive, it will fool even magicians using a principle you probably learnt from a magic kit. A trick so simple, a severely retarded chimpanzee could perform it. A trick so stunning, it will deliver reactions akin to setting your own house on fire. Every time. Unless you perform it on the same person. In which case they won't be quite so vibrant.

Anyway, about the thingy as a whole. The booklet looks professional and feels professional. It has a distinct lack of typos. You read it and feel there's something missing. Oh yeah, he hasn't made any mistakes. There's even an advanced handling section right at the back, just for those of us who feel we aren't pushing ourselves enough. I don't use it, because the trick doesn't need it, but it could provide an interesting twist to the trick.

All in all, this is possibly the best single effect I've seen. Anywhere. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
