This DVD is probably the best source for culling that you can get. As some of you know (or may not know), Kostya is one of the best of the best in culling. He is also a very good teacher. In the DVD, he goes over the very basics of culling one card (the Hofzinser cull) all the way to culling in order to splitting the deck into red/black. Kostya also teaches his famous Culligula Triumph, along with four other effects that all use the cull. He also teaches how to use the cull as a utility (forcing a card, convincing control, culling as an out, etc). Also, after each segment you'll see Kostya do the cull using clear cards with a bicycle card that he will actually cull, so that you can see how his hand position is and how the cull should look from all sides. That's about it from me.

Anybody that have seen Iain Moran's Cullfather DVD could compare that to the The Roadrunner Cull DVD by Kostya Kimlat?

I?m searching for the Roadrunner Cull and also Cullfather is appreciated;-)
I have the Kostya Kimlat International Lecture and it?s a great video. When I know a little more about how to upload videos and all this things(sorry I?m not a internet freak), then if somebody is interested I will upload Kostya Kimlat International Lecture. |

I loved the preview video. The editing is great and the way everything is explained. Really awesome work amazingly professional DVD about a topic that is imho totally UNDERestimated.
The cull practiced well is a great tool for every cardician..! |

The presentations and explanations are done at very high speed and not too much detail. The cull itself is not too different from the Hofzinger one taught by Ian Moran - its just that different fingers are used. The advantage of the Cullfather DVD is that it is taught clearly, carefully and slowly.
For an advanced card man the differences may be important, but for the average worker I don't see any real advantage over the standard version. I am, however, fairly new to culling so others may differ. I also think that if you are new to culling then this vid may not suit. |
