::Loops by Yigal Misaka::
![]() Wow, these things are amazing. They really freak people out! On the web site, it says you can wear them anytime without them snagging and catching on things and losing them, which is mostly true. Since its winter now, i wear a jacket all the time which covers the loop on my wrist...no problem. The loop does not snag to my jacket. However, I was laying on some shag carpet once, and I looked down and noticed my loop was gone! I looked and could not find it anywhere. So watch out for that. On the web site, it says they're strong and durable, which in fact they are. However, these loops are not made of titanium or some magical fabric. There are some boundaries to watch out for. After you play with them for awhile, you'll notice the weight capacity they hold and how far to stretch it. I've noticed that they are completely invisible at night, or on a dark surface, but if you're doing it far enough away from people, they cannot see it. The best reaction you get is when you do it while someone can catch it in the corner of their eye...then when they ask you what in the world just happened, you freak out and walk away acting like you don't even know what happened yourself!! I did that in my very first performance with loops, to my brother, who was in complete awe. Items... A fork is the perfect item for this effect, mainly because if the fork is pointing away from you, and you're moving it around, you can easily "unhook" the loop from the fork with barely any movement at all, and simply walk away. You want to use items that you can unhook the loop without having to pick it up and manually unhooking, which seems fishy after the effect. I've also learned from my own experience, don't ever trust that a loop will unhook itself. You have to make sure. Make sure you can move your hands without the item moving, before walking away. Keep your hands over the item and pretend you "just cannot do it again," which adds to the reality. Oh, and guys, don't move the item enough so that it will fall off the table. That comes from the whole "trust" issue. The loop may still be attached to whatever the item is, and if its still attached, kiss that loop goodbye, if you can find it! Angles.... There is one angle to worry about. Try not to let the spectator see the back of your hand that has the loop wrapped around. You can easily see the loop on the back of your hand or wrist. Other than that...its flawless!! Practice?? Of course, practice is mandatory with every magic effect. Worth the money?? $9.50 free shipping!! You cant go wrong. Easy to master?? Yes, Practice makes perfect, perfecting is mastering! These loops are a stroke of genius, and I would suggest you add it to your arsenal of effects. I didn't see any other threads on this item yet, and i just don't want you all left in the dark about loops. I received this item and I would suggest reading the instructions first. Its seriously a great effect! You will blow people away! Last edited by Alex Hess; 09-12-2007 at 05:16 PM. |

I hear yigals are the best. so if you are into loops, go for the name brand.
I tried loops, i gave them my best shot. but, its just not my thing. I cant really pull off the - "look, its moving, or floating by itself!" when I know its not. And its hard to convince others that it is. Im better with card magic and coins and convincing people of the magic there. for people who can pull off the loops, learn which environment works for invisibility, because I think they can be seen pretty well. |

i havn't bought the loops yet , but bought yigal misika's Elastic invisible thread and made some out of that( this involved 2 pair's of tweezers my trevor duffy magic mat and a lot of patience!) the magic mat is black allowing me to see the thread and doesn't catch with the tweezers. but its a lot of hassle (it is cheaper though as 30ft of thread is only ?12) but they break after a couple of tricks even though i've stretched them and the thread is initially white so i had to sharpie the bad boy's if i was wearing something dark. are the loops black ? and what is the diametre of a loop sitting on the table ? if you wanna try making your own give me a shout for any tips i might be able to give you as i could find any info on making them even on the elluisionist DVD on loops. if i have enough people ask ill do a video on it .

The reactions are so worth the research, some places its really easy to see the loop other places you cant even find it ( and you know its there !!!) i amazed a girl in work and now she keeps looking at me funny and talking about me to other people she actually thinks i have magic powers now just through the haunted deck effect .Fantastic , i love it . ive bought a pack of loops and they will be with me tomorrow. looking forward to it .

i haven't used loops in a while, but i used to use them when i was younger. only thing that killed me was how easily they'd break. luckily, i got the Loops DVD by *********** and learned all about stretching your loops. very cool!

Well, the DVD.... its interesting in a sense, ... if you're new to loops, like me... but if you've used it for a while, maybe you won't find it interesting.
I think.... so far, loops... has served its purpose for me. I've tried things in broad daylight in my school (but at least 15 meters away from everyone else), like floating rubber bands and other stuff. When it comes to the haunted pack. The only problem I have are with the cards..... your cards would have to be relatively new and smooth to pull it off. If your cards are a little worn down.... you'll either overstretch the loop when you're doing it and it'll lose its elasticity (which leaves you with a not so good 'revelation')... or it'll break. |

I believe they are just stretchy invisible string that make a (gasp!) loop around your hand. Then you can make stuff float.
Not entirely sure, but that's what they sound like.
