::The Ash Pen::
![]() I was curious to see what the product offers, and must confess that the Ashes on the Arm (a.k.a. Burned, Greylocke's Ashes, Devil's Ashes, etc..) trick has always been one of my favorites. First, I will say the Ash Pen package will do everything that the advertisement says it will. It is EXACTLY as advertised. Yes, You can carry it anywhere anytime. Yes, You can make it appear on almost ANYTHING ( I even tried it on sheet glass!) And Yes, you can EVEN do it on the SPECTATOR'S ARM! This is an important key point here. For those of you thinking"I Already know how the Ash trick works" don't be fooled by your own knowledge. This product will open up doors for your "ash type" effects that you didn't even know were there, and I cannot stress enough how much of an increased reaction I got when I did this effect for someone whom I had previously performed it for! He had seen me do the Ash trick before with my own product. He asked me to show it to him and some of his friends again today so I showed it to him but said, "You know I'm tired of having to get cleaned up from this effect, here, you do it." And gave him the cup of ashes. When the mark appeared on his arm instead of mine, the reaction was more than I had ever hoped for. I'm not certain but I may have damaged his concept of reality and twisted his sense of the natural laws of existence. I overheard him later talking with another friend, and neither of them could seem to credit what their eyes saw. This was true magic, they said. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the packaging for the Ash Pen and routine is not up to snuff with Illusionist's other stuff. The info it gives is good and offers a lot of great ideas but it's the Ash Pen itself you REALLY MUST HAVE! Packaging is never a concern for me, however, especially when buying something from the WWW. In the Display case at White Rabbit Magic, for instance, I am drawn to the flashier, slicker packaging (like the Crash Course and Ninja videos have with their great covers and production quality) but on the web, its the EFFECT we're after. All taken with all, I give the Ash Pen 9.8 out of 10 Don't settle for doing things the same way we did in the 1800's! Move into the 21st century with your magic by getting the Ash Pen NOW! Edit: Feb. 2004 -- This effect is FANTASTIC , and UNCOMPARABLE when used in conjunction with John Cornelius's Thought Transmitter . I had an opportunity to borrow a Thought Transmitter from a friend last night, and used the Ash Pen with it. We had a couple of college guys and girls screaming. Can't say enough about that. Combo magic is the wave of the future. Last edited by Alex Hess; 09-12-2007 at 04:17 PM. |
