Sudden Impact by Cameron Francis
Effect: The Basic Effect: A Joker (or any card) is isolated inside the card case – everything is completely fair – with the card in full view it instantly changes into the signed selection which is then fairly dumped out of the box and handed out for inspection! You really have to see this to believe it. But it doesn’t stop there – Cameron has created no less then SEVEN DIFFERENT EFFECTS (including magic, Mentalism, and gambling themes) with the Sudden Impact gimmicks and they are all included on this DVD! You’ll learn a ton of cool moves and sleights as Cameron shows you a wide variety of uses for his Sudden Impact concept. With this DVD and the enclosed gimmicks, you’ll be able to… 1.) Change one card into another! 2.) Change the back color of a card! 3.) Change a playing card into your business card! 4.) Melt two signed cards into one! 5.) Make one card pass through another! Plus Cameron will also teach you a method for cleaning up the gimmicks, meaning that EVERYTHING can be examined! Contents Sudden Impact: A random card visually transforms into a signed selection. Passin Through: A selection visually passes through another card. Color Correct: The back of a card changes from red to blue. All Business: A selected card suddenly changes into your business card. Really Wild: A cased Joker visually changes to complete a Royal Flush. Sudden Thought: A cased card visually changes into a though of card. Bonus – Sudden Waltz: Two signed cards are visually fused together inside the card case. Price: $24.49 Teaching: Cameron Francis doesn’t an exceptional job of performing each effect, and then explaining every move in great detail. Each of the effects that are taught on this DVD require easy to intermediate knowledge of sleight of hand. But the great thing is that if you’re not familiar with the sleights (though I’m pretty sure everyone does) you will be taught how to perform each move effortlessly. The quality of the DVD is pretty much the same of all the Full 52 Production DVD’s. Although not the highest of quality, you’ll still have no trouble of not seeing the effects and explanations that are presented. The sound is also not of the greatest quality, and I had to turn my speakers up more than usual to hear everything. But don’t let that deter you; you’ll still be able to understand everything that Cameron says. All and all Cameron Francis is absolutely terrific at explaining everything you’ll need to know on how to perform this truly amazing effect. Quality of materials: The gimmick that makes all of the effects possible is absolutely ingenious and superbly clever. It is of extremely high quality and you’ll more than likely understand how to use it without watching the DVD. But it gets even better once he performs and explains all of the hundreds of possibilities utilizing the Sudden Impact gimmick. I cannot stress this point enough on how clever The Sudden Impact gimmick is and the ease of use, that you’ll probably even come up with your own various effects. Much the same as I did, after watching the whole DVD and playing with the effect, I came up with 4 effects that are extremely easy to do. I even e-mailed Cameron all of the effects I came up with using Sudden Impact, and even he said that he’ll use what I explained to him with his performances. To replace the gimmick if you were to either lose it or to even purchase more of the gimmicks is very inexpensive. I don’t see how you could even break the gimmick which is why I stated about losing or wanting to purchase more. And if you wanted to make a gimmick with an effect you created, it could not possibly be easier to construct one. Difficulty: The difficultly of the Sudden Impact effects would be about a 2-4 on a scale of 10. It is so utterly simple to use that you’ll be performing any of the effects within 10 minutes of watching the DVD, or just playing around with it. I am not exaggerating when I say it is extremely simple. Another great feature is the reset, which is instant! Literally after performing an effect, it is ready to be used again and again. Clean up is also extremely simple and no one will have any difficulty with the clean up. But what I’ve come to find is that it’s practically 99% un-necessary to even need to do a clean up. The 1% that you’ll probably want to do a clean up is when performing any of the effects to another Magician. But in all of the weeks I’ve had this effect, not once have I ever needed to clean up, and I think that is what makes this effect absolutely ingenious! Applications: Sudden Impact has so many applications that you can even use it as an opener, an effect in the middle of your routine as well as a closer. Once you the secret behind this effect, you’ll see what I mean by hundreds of applications. Overall Rating: Sudden Impact by Cameron Francis is easily a 10/10 magic effect. Between the extremely visual nature of all the changes, hundreds of applications, reset and clean up make this effect the most incredible purchase I have made in all of 2009. Without a doubt I would suggest any Magician who does card effects, to buy Sudden Impact. You wont regret it one bit and you’ll also have tons of fun practicing, performing and coming up with your own unique ideas. |
