the.PACKAGING

Powerball 60 comes in a CD size compact case with the accompanying DVD and an envelope containing the 6 REAL lotto tickets - you will need to scratch them yourselves, but this should take no longer than 10 minutes (this is the only "prep work" involved) - they are also the size of the traditional $1 lotto tickets. They will easily fit into your wallet or pocket and once so, you're ready to go and blow some minds.

the.QUALITY

As mentioned above, the lotto tickets are in fact REAL; superb quality, glossy finish, soft touch, and the info on the front and back resembles the back of a real lotto ticket. With the right care, these will last you forever - although, Richard and Bill do offer refills, but I believe they are unnecessary (unless you lose or rip one of the tickets), because I feel that when the tickets become slightly damage, it starts to look and feel like a real lotto ticket (because why would you always carry new lotto tickets with you all the time?).

the.TEACHING

The DVD is shot in a nice quality, and Richard and Bill share their presentation with Powerball 60 (Richards being an 'Energy' [direct] presentation while Bill's is a comical and fun presentation) and offer tips, advice, ideas and afterthoughts, as well. The DVD also teaches the basics of the PDF (although, the PDF goes more into detail than the DVD). The DVD teaches; how to set-up your tickets, how to read your tickets, and how to utilize Powerball 60.

On the other hand, the PowerGuide teaches you various of routines and how to incorporate each phase with one another - this is an advantage of Powerball 60 - despite you ending on one phase or another, the routine flows so well that it doesn't occur to the spectators that something is missing. The PowerGuide teaches how to perform Powerball 60 on stage, how to predict the thought of number and/or tickets won by the spectator, how to perform Powerball 60 to 3 or more spectators at one time, how to reveal their thought of number while your back is turned, while you're on the other side of the room or if you're in another room! The PDF is very detailed and very comprehensive and contains photos to help along the way; easy to learn from and easy to follow along with - and it also includes a few basic scriptings so you can get out there and perform Powerball 60 in a matter of minutes.

the.METHOD

I wanted to touch on this subject really quickly. The method behind Powerball 60 is based on an age-old principle, but Richard and Bill have cleverly disguised this principle on the tickets and have given it a new modern take (not the method, but in how they incorporated the method). I also wanted to show how easy and quickly you can get the method - I LITERALLY learned it in 30 seconds, YES - this is 100% true. This is SOOO simple that even a caveman could do it. You will DEFINITELY have no trouble here. What I also liked is whether the spectator places the tickets facing up OR facing down, you will automatically still know the number they're thinking of - so this WILL get the best of hecklers... or anyone trying to bluff you out... or anyone for that matter. ;]

audience.PARTICIPATION/INTERACTION

This is where Powerball 60 definitely shines. Once you take out those tickets, your audience will be hooked (as Bill mentioned in the DVD, when him and Richard created the first prototypes and took them out in a restaurant, the waiter immediately came over and asked, "Did you have any winners?!") It also has the 3 factors most magicians look for when wanting to involve an audience; 1) it happens in their hands and they are in control. 2) Once performed, your spectators will be asking for more (you'll see when Richard performs Powerball 60 to a group of young adults, one of the spectators says, "I want to try it!") and 3) it involves the entire audience - even if they're not separating or thinking of a number - again, you'll see when Richard and Bill perform their presentation to their audience, everyone is very interested, laughing and having a good time... and not a lot of effects can harness these 3 factors.

Because of the minimal and self-working aspect of Powerball 60, it leaves you an entire room for presentation and allows you to focus on showmanship; Richard and Bill give you various of routines to choose from, so you can either perform it the way they give you, or you can create your own routine or take various parts of different routines and create a new routine from there - the presentation possibilities for Powerball 60 are endless and it's up to you as to how you want to perform it.

the.ORGANIC FACTOR

Powerball 60 beautifully takes advantage of the "Organic Magic Factor" (magic that uses everyday, ordinary and common items as 'props). As mentioned before about Richard and Bill's encounter with the waiter, lotto tickets is an item that everybody knows; just as poker has become a known part in everyone's life, lotto tickets fall in the same factor; they're also a form of popular and gambling source of 'entertainment'. They will fly by your spectators as the genuine thing (although they're REAL tickets, the game, Powerball 60 is not a real gaming lotto ticket, but since they're so many out there, who can tell?).

As you can tell from my review, I am a HUGE fan of Powerball 60, and I believe you will be too. I believe Bill Malone said it best, "Perform this just once and you'll never leave home without it!" - this IS VERY true, ever since Powerball 60 has been happily and safely in my wallet - it has become a Visa Card to me - I won't go anywhere without it.

I wanted to address this in a new post - How do you perform Powerball 60 if you're underage (as you need to be 18 years old to buy lotto).

Here is a small and logical script:

"Being a magician, one question I always get asked is, "Can you make me win the lotto?!". Well, being underage, I can't play the lotto, but what I have done is collected these 6 losing lotto tickets and the next time I get asked, I pull these out and say, "Well, I can't make you win the lotto, but I can see how lucky you can be the next time you play!" So, let's try it out with you!."

And just perform Powerball 60 from there!

It makes everything flow well together, has a logic as to why you're in hold of these tickets, and you're ready to blow some minds!

Wicked! Thank you so very much i.am.famous for writing a review on this effect, because I have been wanting to purchase this effect for the longest time, but I could never find any reviews nearly as in-depth and detailed as yours.

Lately I have been slowing gathering Mentalism books, DVD's with multiple Mentalism effects and other items, such as this to add to my routines. If by chance you can recommend some other great Mentalism effects that aren't too terribly expensive, I would be eternally grateful!
