I have been looking and looking for this book ever since I watched a short demo video by Jason England who was giving out some very good advice on what kind of books on card magic he recommends.
Then one day I found a copy for sale and the person was asking $179.95 - which then sold the next day, right before I almost had the full amount to purchase it. Now I see another one for sale and the asking price is $125.75 which they say isn't in too good a shape, and then the next one is $195.00 which is said to be in better condition. My question is this, if anyone owns a copy of this book, is the content in the book worth the high price tag? I do realize that it hasn't been reprinted which is why it's so expensive, but I've yet to come across a website that gives a little bit of detail about what you might expect going through the pages and seeing all the different effects/flourishes/etc. If anyone can help me with the questions of mine, I would be eternally grateful. |

Many of the books that Jason recommends are available as Ebooks. Check out the previous link. I don't know where your understanding of magic is, whether you are a novice or expert. "The Fine Art of Magic" by George Kaplan is not necessarily the easiest book to follow.if you don't have a fair grounding in the magic arts. It has been translated into Spanish by Rafael Benatar and can be obtained fairly easily- you will need to understand Spanish. I personally would not place it really high on the list from Jason England. A good book but cost prohibitive for what it contains. You can find much of the material from the book at various websites.

I really loved to have this book 20 years ago when I began magic.
I always enjoy to read it today, for me there are some gems "hidden" inside. A real classic, even a bit old now. As told haroldross you can find part of material contains in elsewhere, but I'll never sell mine for sure. With time you can find it to a fair price on some auctions site.(between $50- $70) Or maybe this link could interrest someone: New stock Magick Words I'm in no way afiliate with this website I just found it with a google search, it's not really cheap but not a high price too. |
