HI guys...

So I am making a giant paper mache magic wand and I got the frame built already when I started thinking...

Which is funnier and more useful?

I already eliminated the axe handle wand (too much work!)

I am debating about making a lead pipe 'wand' where it is very obvious I took a pipe and painted it black with a white tip {The other end has rust and an elbow} or simply make the whole pipe rusty and call it a wand. I have the elbow end done and I am working my way to the other end. If I do half and half it is probably the most versatile and funniest, Right? I guess I could to one of each, know that I have the technique down. Maybe, but is there enough gags in it to be worth the work?

It looks like it would cream you yet it is so light I could probably safely throw it at you. LOL

PS I forgot I was going to do a stage hypnosis skit using the clue characters so maybe just plain pipe is the way to go. I dunno. Plus there is always the lead pipe induction... Always works!

try the rusty pipe, say that your father is a mechanic, or something like that. haha. or you are a utility man turned magician. or somethig. hehe. just my opinion.

I think the rusty wand idea would be good! just do take into consideration. the safety aspect. am always wary with rusts. =P
an idea is u show the rusted pipe. and do your gag on ur dad being a utlility man or something. then u changed it into a new wand..

I don't know how I'd turn it into a wand as it is huge... LOL

The original plan was to have this 'thing' painted to suggest a magic wand but shaped to suggest a lead pipe

I think I will just make it one rusty pipe and fore go painting it. I have to find my phone and take pictures but it is hilarious...

I call it the 'peace pipe'. I have a wand collection going and it is stuck in the lotta jug with the rest of them.

YES, I do...

I am just learning but I am getting really good at it. Most of my projects cost me a whole dollar fifty to make, that and a lot of TLC.

I am working to get enough props together for a show... It is taking a while because every time I finish one project it leads me to a better way of doing a previous one, and I redo it. LOL

Also I am self taught... and sometimes I figure it out WRONG. LOL

Still looking for help on the die boxes... Anyone, Anyone at all.

yeah I'm self taught too. problem is that sometimes u come up and ponder upon a method to achieve an effect. only to find out in the end that there is an easier alternative or you are just barking up the wrong tree.

anyway, how i would make the wand to change from pipe to wand. my idea would be to paint and treat the flash paper to give it the rusty look and then stick it to the wand. a lit matchstick to the wand would make it change into a wand in a flash. (pun totally intended)

obviously, i cant try it out cos i'm still quarrantined at the hospital. haha

Been there done that...
But I still think it is the way to grow and learn, BECAUSE you learn and retain more then if you were spoon feed the info. In making my own props I NOW understand why they are made the way they are. Also I end up with exactly what I want (within limits) and the pieces match.

I have never played with flash paper... BUT the answer you provide would involve quite a investment in time literally going up in smoke. Plus I am not sure if the glue would mess with the paper. The resin (and paint) if used certainly would probably make the smoke toxic. LOL It is a neat idea that I will have to pass on! The wand will just have to remain a sight gag and be happy about it.

How are you doing? Did you pick yourself out a cute nurse to flirt with? Uniforms! O la la! Sponge baths! Yippie! I am a messy boy! High maintenance! LOL

Hmmm Yeah. As I recall it wasn't all that for me either. Although, I do remember trying to get away in from the cute candy stripper with a wet nap who had taken a liking to me. I think I was really fun to torment! I was wearing the silly smock that left very little to the imagination in front and required NO imagination in back. I will still on crutches so it was a lost cause. I think I was 16, so things were still awkward. LOL

Back to reality and cold bed pans!

I see. oh well, if I'm in the mood i might just try it out and tell you about it!

OH about the nurses huh. Well, sadly there aint that much pretty nurses and they are all pretty busy rushing here and there. (my friends and i have a theory that the pretty ones work in A class wards or private hospitals!)

I do get sponge baths now and then when i'm in no shape to bathe myself. but they are quite professional and quick about it. HAHA
