I would say no, unless perhaps you find one that is magic-related.

Absolutely not! You never want to work against your audience. These shirts, while humorous to some are down right offensive to others. In fact I believe that's kind of the point Tshirt hell is going for.

I could (and have) written essays before on what to wear to a gig. Tshirts are almost always WAY to common. General rule of thumb is to be the best dressed person in the room. T-shirts rarely classify as best dressed. ...Unless you're performing for a nudest colony. Then I'd say your on your own.

Terrible idea mate. Sorry. Like Draven said, you are just going to piss off a good portion of your audience before you start. These t-shirts will make you seem like a hick. They may be funny to some, but you will do WAY more harm than good with them.

Maybe this would be the time and place for a discussion on what a magician should wear for a performance.

I believe that clothing/appearance is one of the top three priorities for a magician. The other two being presentation and technique. These three together create your character.

Psychology plays a major role in a magician's performance. Many magicians, new and seasoned, often overlook this aspect and run into many problems. Do you have crowd control problems? Are people always trying to grab the props? You need to use the psychological tools that you have available to you. I successful magician is also a good psychologist in that they have a good understanding of how a person thinks and responds emotionally.

Rooms of books have been written on the topic of 'Dress For Success' in the business world. As magicians we would do well to heed some of the same advice. Do you want to stand out in authority? The answer is in how you dress. Remember the first impression is made in the first 5 to 10 seconds of meeting someone. You need to have the confidence and this is reflected in your clothes. I know that there are always exceptions to the rule but I believe you need to dress at least one step up from your intended audience. Dressing in a three piece suit is going overboard for street magic but would be great for stage magic. T-shirts put you on a certain level and you may have trouble commanding any authority. I nice clean T-shirt and jeans can work great for street magic if the shirt has no message- even a magic type message can hurt. Look like you know what you are doing. Act like you know what you are doing. Dress like your intended audience expects a magician to dress. Then you will be successful.

I highly recommend that you pick up the 'Tarbell Course In Magic, Volume I' and read Chapter 2, 'Magic As A Science.'

I apologize if I just rambled on but something in this thread struck me with the need to say this.

What do the rest of you think?

Part of me is questioning the legitimacy of this post. While I agree with Lyle, Harold, and William the original URL is coded. I have a feeling this is a blatant advertisement of someone trying to earn some cash.

Since people have already made some outstanding comments, I have replaced your affiliate link with the standard non-affiliate link.

As for your question, absolutely not. Don't stoop down to a shirt that low. As others stated, while funny, will do MUCH more damage then good. BTW - I peaked at the prices of these shirts, and I don't know what cheap is to you, but none of these are cheap. 20$ of a tacky shirt seems a bit steep in price, wouldn't you think?

Take your money to JC Penny or your local outlet mall. Get some nice button-ups and dress to impress, you never know who you will be performing for.

no no no no nooooo! ok for stage preformance look dressed up you dont have to have a 50ft top hat to pull a rabit out of, a vest or a suit works just fine. for street preforming wear a shirt which wont bother anyone dont be preforming with a shirt that could in any way disturb anybody. it would take away from your act. im sorry for not posting for a while

no body really makes money performing on the streets, and unless you're busking, which you would just be wearing a little less of a stage attire. If you know you can't wear it on stage (well shouldn't), then you shouldn't wear it no matter where you perform. If you wear that shirt you might offend 1 outta say 50 people but that 1, could've given you a weekly gig at a restaruant.

performing for.
haha.

don't wear these. If ever you were thinking of purchasing the anti-christ shirts, you must know by now that you will most certainly lose a large portion of your customers. even if they don't work for the church or even if they are not very religious, they might really get turned off by the shirt.

and the other shirts just don't say anything about being professional. even on the streets. You'd be better off with a solid colored shirt with no prints.

I just wanted to add something related to the previous post.
I have the chance to visit a Jazz event 2 times a month and the last time a few bands from the local music school did a show there.

A dude was on stage with a casual shirt and pants. I know him and he wears the stuff to school and stuff. And i was very put off by that. I mean, the people in the audience were dressed really fine and everyone had put effort into looking casual but formal. For me it was a dark pair of pants and a cardigan.

Although another friend of mine who performed hadn't put any effort into his "costume" he was much more convincing. He was wearing a purple hoodie(FTW!) and dark jeans. But the thing was he is kinky, he's presence is always like he was on stage. That outfit is him and reflects him and that showed. He didn't feel out of place like the first one did.

All im saying is that wear stuff that reflects you as a person. I usually wear a black jacket, dark jeans and either a black shirt or a lighter colored shirt. It's really up to you but try to reflect yourself, if you do, you will probably see improvements since people will feel like you belong on the stage more.
