Here is another quick one:

"Five playing cards are held face down in your hand. Three cards are removed from the fan, turned face up and replaced into the fan. Now that you have some cards face up and some face down, you close the fan. When you reopen it, all of the cards are face down again!"

Here, I'll throw another one out there:

"You display a small tin, wrapped in a rubber band, bearing the words 'TIME CAPSULE' - this is left in full view. A spectator signs their own bill and hands it to you. Placing it inside your fist you give it a little squeeze and incredibly, the bill completely vanishes! You go on to explain that you actually sent the bill back in time. The tin is opened and inside is discovered a 'Tic-Tac' box through which can clearly be seen a folded bill! The 'Tic-Tac' box is dumped into your hand. You pop the lid off and cleanly dump the bill into your spectators awaiting hand - the box is now clearly empty. They unfold the bill there is their signature."

I really do apologize..

But, Yes... this was the general idea. And before I read hex's answer I went and tried to research it. It is MUCH harder to do then I anticipated.... LOL

I going to go eat dinner and then see if I can come up with answer to the lightbulb gag.

BTW - My friend gave me a box of stuff and in it is a the tick tac trick I think!!

You got it right Jacob. I described version 2 but that is ok with me.

Here is another- a classic- Here is the presentation and effect:

"The magician requests a spectator to give the deck a thorough shuffle. He then instructs the spectator to remove 10 cards from any part of the deck and put them into his pocket. Next the spectator places the remainder of the pack face down on the table. The magician tells the spectator that he (the magician) is going to turn his back, but first he wants the spectator to know what he is to do when the magician's back is turned.

"Here is what you do when my back is turned. Take any number of cards out of your pocket that you wish, note the bottom card of that group, and place that group on top of these cards." The magician points to the deck sitting on the table.

The magician turns his back and tells the spectator to do as he was instructed. After all this has been done, the magician faces the spectator, picks up the cards, and deals 10 cards in a row face down on the table.

The magician does a bit of concentrating, after which he turns up on of the 10 cards. It proves to be the selected card. "Furthermore," the magician states, "you have --- cards in your pocket." The number the magician names proves to be exactly the number of cards the spectator has in his pocket."

I thick this is a Docc Hilford trick - He at least performs it.

I have no idea how to even research this. - I thought it would be easy.... Not so! LOL

Nice guess though.

The trick predates Docc by a few years.

Here are a couple of clues:
1) The trick is credited to the individual who was attributed with first doing the 'side steal'.
2) The year 1873 may help in your search.

Thank you Harold.

I have given this a little thought and I would like to do a "stump the mage" question also.

Here is the effect.

Magician shuffles a deck of playing cards and cuts them. Two kings then appear in his hand.

The Kings are slowly turned face down on top of the deck and they trap an Ace, sandwiched between them.

Every time the Kings are turned over onto the deck an Ace appears sandwiched between them, until all Aces are found.
