Talking About Mess-ups

Everybody talks about which trick is the greatest and whats the best way to perform it, well i wanted to ask you guys what do you do in a situation where you know u have messed up the trick or the audience has caught your trick and goes "HA U SCREWED UP, i noe wat u did ther" and starts revealing ur secret to every1?

well things like that happens a lot...sometimes a trick works,sometimes it doesn't...

Ya, i noe, but this i wanted to have discussion on this, as 1 of my friends who is a VERY skilled magician was performing stage magic at a talent show, did 2 preti AMAZING tricks but on his TnR, the audience member he told to rip the card screwed it over and he quickly tried to fix it but in the middle of his restoration he screwed up, so i was wondering what would sum of u guys do in a situation like that?

mmm actually it really depends on the trick but sometimes just by NOT saying "i screw it" and using misteraction you can get away with it.

Once I was pefrorming for X-mas with my family and other people (50 people in a living room) and i was doing a fork bending trick and I screw it so i just stopped and ignored the "I know how you did that!!" shouts and asked "do you know how they do knifes?... well actually they are made when a beautiful lady needle and a handsome paper clip fall in love" and continued with a new trick when you get a paper clip and a needle and by pressing them you make a knife appear. Then i did the next trick from my original routine.

Other way is by saying a joke and then saying to them "ok now we're going to try the REAL experiment/trick"

Only you know your routine so they will never know if you screw it or only was part of your routine (or as a misteraction)

Ya well, sometimes thers those situation ESPECIALY in stage magic wher u noe uve screwed up and ur audience is completely aware of what just hapnd does not want to see u finish the trick so i was wondering what do you do ther

cause my friend handled it preti well, he just stopped and hes like ok u noe wat guys i noe i messed up but i can make up for it and performed another trick which screwed em over

I hate when I mess up in front of people... Anyways, I usually just like cover it up somehow or just move on and don't pay attention to what anyone says!

The main thing comes in Practice, Experience, Misdirection, Audience Handling and stuff............... But i prefer That most of it comes from Practice.
