Here at ExoMagic we have decided to do a little charity event! As you are aware, we are a site dedicated to magic. We figured since we are so dedicated to magic why not give back to the less fortunate?

Well, we've decided that we are going to donate $1.00 USD for each reply to this thread (try to limit yourself to 1 post in this thread). Even though our server payments are starting to run into the triple digits, we manage to scrounge up some money. Even though we are a bit behind on our finances, that is not our main concern.

I am going to run a poll for for the duration of this thread. I would like user input on which organization we should donate to, so PLEASE don't hesitate to give your input and make some posts ; )

A New Center for Magic

For the past 26 years, the College of Magic based in Cape Town, South Africa has been sharing this experience with thousands of students - providing magical arts training to aspirant magicians and entertainers the world over.

History

The College of Magic, the brainchild of current director, David Gore, opened its doors on February 23, 1980 providing desperately needed performance arts training for aspirant entertainers from all sections of the community. Starting with a group of just 34 young entertainers, the College has over 26 years mushroomed into the only magical arts training organisation of its kind in the world.

Formally constituted as an Association Not For Gain in January 1985, the College's own Magical Arts Centre was officially opened by the Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology in 1995.

This vibrant extra-mural performing arts training centre now serves as a home for more than 150 students, a meeting place for various cultural groups, a destination for school tours, a research and resource centre and as headquarters for our global distance learning initiative.

wow,this seems fantasic of you exo ,i admire you in doing this but isnt it better to donate the money to a more worthy cause like cancer research than a magicians club?

Well, this entire site is about helping people learn magic. I suppose if you didn't have cancer, it would be easier to learn and perform magic, but this is a direct way of serving the magic community. And that's what they're trying to do; give back to the community for all the help it's given us.
