Default Booked Solid

I am booked solid for the next month and a half. These are traditional magic shows as opposed to the motivational shows I normally do. I will be trying out a lot of new material in front of new crowds.

I had run low on flash paper bills and most everywhere has run out of the $1.00 bills. I did find some that were different than the ones I have used in the past. They look more realistic but they are slightly smaller than a regular bill- should not be a problem though.

Any suggestions on quick parlor magic tricks? The audiences will be all ages and I want to try to keep everyones attention.

Thanks.

I've always been a fan of rope magic, coin magic, and cup/ball for those type of situations. I'm sure you've thought of those though! When I perform for a group of people in a parlor setting I typically refrain from standard card magic. Some one-offs like pkring and gecko would be nice mixes into a routine as well.

Alex,

Thanks for responding.

You are right about card tricks. I will be doing a few card tricks but I have adapted them to play for a bigger audience. I will have to do my signature effects such as the Torn & Restored Newspaper and Spike. Spike of course will be modified to use either an egg or a tomato instead of the 4 inch spike.

I have several effects that use fire, a rope routine which involves having my pet rope perform tricks, and a money routine.

In place of a Cups & Balls routine I will do my version of Peanut Butter & Jelly.

I usually work in Jay Sankey's VanishInk somewhere in the show. I have been experimenting with a vanish that I came up with a few months ago. It has probably been done before but I stumbled across the method by accident while practicing coin sleeving.

I also have a routine built around Charlie Justice's Prohibition. There are a number of quick effects that I will do throughout the shows along with some really new material.
