Over the holidays I have been sorting through the old magic boxes and cataloging their contents. I still haven't come across a box or two.
I have a number of tricks that I have that are just collecting dust. Most of the items collecting dust are ones that work best for a one-on-one performance or a group of 2 or 3 people. Among the stash are numerous card effects that just don't work well with a live crowd. They work well one-on-one or for Youtube but that is it. Am I alone in this?

Several of the tricks of mine I found which I hadn't used in a while when I cleared up one time was also things that were a one on one performance trick. So I guess you aren't alone here. But I can see why that would be the case with you, because you perform in live shows and you would pick tricks from your repertoire to suit the live stage performances.

I have been thinking about investing in projection equipment so some of the one-on-one type effects could be seen by a larger group.
Perhaps, I should have also asked, Have you adapted a one-on-one effect to make it work for a large group? If so, what did you do? I know that Penn & Teller usually force a '3 of Clubs' in their shows since that card can easy be seen at a greater distance and shows up well on TV.

Well one thing I do if other people were watching a trick designed for a one-to-one, is to ask the person furthest from you a question, usually in regards to the trick, if they hear you, then you know the other people will hear you swell. Its a handy little tip which gets others involved in a one-to-one and ensures that they get the best viewing of the trick.
