The basic method is in Tarbell's original course, I believe it's in Lesson 27. This is an effect that Houdini did often and Teller of Penn and Teller does now. All these are a variation of the old Indian Needle Swallowing Trick.
Steve Spill's method is probably the one I prefer. There is no need to do any switching of the needle packet. With Steve's method you can eat and drink after you have 'swallowed' the needles. I debated about what would have the greater Impact on the audience- needles or razor blades. I believe the needles work better especially with the thread. What do you think?

I think RAZORS Have more of a impact...
BTW I was at the Dollar Tree and they have a pack of rubber body parts which includes a nose, ear, eye and TONGUE. I use the nose and ear for model molds for some of my projects, but the TONGUE is awesome! It is a little small but most don't notice it when you stick it in your mouth and push pins and the like through it. Also Brian Brushwood has a post on a recipe for making your own tongues so you can cut it off with scissors and the like. See if you can dig it up! -misj- |
