I thought I would comment on "More Memory Man' By Joel Givens from Vanishing, Inc.. I brought it here since it would get lost under the other topic.
This is a very simple to perform routine that looks like you memorized an entire deck when you only need to memorize a few cards. Some of the pieces that make up the routine can be used for many other routines. He teaches a very nice force and a few good ways to glimpse cards. All of this can be done with a borrowed deck where the spectator can shuffle and cut the cards. Check it out.

So on the the Harold Ross system you would ....
A) Give it # (1 thru 5) Shiny Stars B) Give it THREE THUMBS up. OR C) Happily back the car over it several times, while wishing it was the products' author. H- Did you feel like you got a good bang out of your hard earned buck? Is the media a DVD or PDF (surprisingly I prefer PDF most times). Did it immediately make it way into your already vast bag of tricks? I am just trying to stimulate some interesting conversation! BTW Thanks for the tip. I am looking for a small converse mirror to use as a glimpse and it seems like this has a bunch of tips on how to use one in it! -misj- |

Which way do the stars go? 1 the best or 5 the best? I also only have 2 thumbs unless you count my thumb tip.
If 5 stars is the best, I would give it a 4.5. It is about a 15 minute Apple Quicktime video. Experts could probably skip it and if you don't do any 'memorized' deck routines, you may want to skip it. If you are looking for a 'memorized' deck routine, this will give you a very nice starting point. I will work it into my routine in a few weeks. I just introduced several card effects this past week and received positive responses in D.C.. I thought my 'bottom deal' was pretty sloppy yet no one picked up on it. I am working on a version of 'Scarne's Aces' using a borrowed deck and possibly doing it while being blindfolded. You won't need any gimmicks for the 'glimpse, that he teaches here. You just use a normal deck and any setup that is required is done out front while performing the trick. The effect can easily be made more into a mentalist effect than a standard card trick. $10.00 is very reasonable for what he shows you.

LOL
I think the THREE THUMBS up should be the ONLY scale we magi use, and suggest we implement it immediately. Thanks for the quick response! I will get on it! -misj- |
