Which device do you prefer- the Sanada or the Cloaking Device by Jay Scott Berry? I'm looking at doing a bill switch without a thumb tip.
Thanks!

Hi Guys!
I am only 'distantly' aware of the Sanada - I don't have one nor have I really seen one in action or touched one. The cloaking device is completely new to me, although I much admire Jay Scott Barry's innovative use and improvement on many of the classics. Without giving too much away (just what you are comfy with) - what are the differences and where do you see each device shine? It would be nice to see a topic actually continue and grow around here. LOL -misj- |

Ok I used sanada and I've seen the cloaking device in use long time ago.
The basic principle is the same, the improvment about the cloaking is that you can keep it safely and prepared in your pocket before to use it.. The bad point could be that the billet must be relatively small once folded(maybe 4 cm square), the good point is that you're ready all the time to use it. Most tricks that you can do with the sanada can be done with the cloaking device. If you want just exchange a billet then sanada will certainly do the job for a smaller price, the cloaking device looks like a bit more "practical" that's all. I hope I didn't give too much ![]() Now the dvd by Jay Scott Berry could give you ideas to do a clean bill switch. I never used it so maybe some will have different things to tell about this gimmick Last edited by David24; 11-04-2011 at 11:24 AM. |

I really don't care for either of these devices now that I am familiar with them.
A TT is still the best device for bill switches and such. misj- we can probably discuss the details of these devices in the Academy section.

H-
David did a nice job on the description... I figure the cloak is a sanada with a pocket built in, lol. I don't really care what we talk about... ( boxers or briefs?!?) AS long as their is an active discussion, preferably about mentalism or hypnosis. For the longest time it as been the misj and H show... so I for one am glad we have some new blood on the active list! Welcome aboard David! -misj- PS - David get an avatar will ya! For Pete's sake! Something sinister and French! Last edited by Misjief; 11-04-2011 at 06:47 PM. |

always so beautiful legs....hmm
ok, I'll search for an avatar soon ![]() LOL I never told that it was a pocket... ![]() @ haroldross : you're certainly right the TT do the job very well too, but TT, Sanada, Cloaking device or others, they have all their own advantages and problems. It depends the use that you want to do with. It depends how you structure your routine. If it's for laypeople or for magicians...(even if you can do a swith with a TT, you will fool a lot of people who have heard about or have seen a TT by using a sanada.) @ Misjief : I don't promise to be an amazing real active member in this community. But I don't search specially to have the 10, 20 or 50 posts required to access the academy section.(well if I can access it then I'll surely be happy). I just search a place where people can discuss seriously and friendly about magic. For the moment I just try to understand where I am and hope that this place is what I search.

David-
To gain access to the academy you need to hang around for a week and post a little. You are already more then active most, unfortunately(?) many of our members have a life that precludes them from being on the internet all that much. I tend to be addicted to both the internet and magic. Not sure what H's story is, just glad he is here or I'd be real lonely.... He is a great resource and if he'd toss his ethics aside he'd be even more of an asset! *smirk* I am joking but the point is he NEVER tell ALL that he knows... And I know it so I find the habit rather annoying. When I first joined we had lots of characters running around but sadly things have slowed down a bit lately. I will say this for the folks that do stick around, we are a pretty tight knit crew, which is unusual and folksy. I do hope you decide to stick around and join our cast of characters, cause it would be nice if just once the mentalist among us outnumbered them others guys! ![]() -misj- Last edited by Misjief; 11-05-2011 at 05:51 PM. |
