biggest mistake, youtube videos. You get what you pay for. you paid for nothing you get nothing. My opinion.

On the Pass Richard Kaufman, DVD
Ken Krenzel - The Pass VHS Great sources. Most likely you are doing a pass, but it looks horrible because you havent polished it up yet. The pass is a blatant move done invisibly... Just take your time.. go slow.. a little faster..etc.

Kaufman's On the Pass is definitely an amazing one.
Another good one is Pass with care by Pete Cassford. And I think Brad Christian has one of E that is just ok. One of the ninja DVD's I think. Good luck and PM if you have questions! One of the most underused and under appreciated moves. |

Not sure who that quote belongs to but here is mine:
"If you use a pass only to control one card, you are not using the pass correctly" It has so many more applications than just controlling one card. That being said, "when a spectator replaces a card somewhere near the centre of the deck they do not know where it is (apart from near the centre). Once _something_ happens to the deck, be it a cut or a shuffle, then all bets are off. If you want to maintain the conviction in the mind of the spectator, then don't do anything with the deck." (Ian Kendall) In order to convey that nothing has been done to the deck and everything is totally fair, the best and only way to control a card to the top or bottom is a pass. Plus, it really irritates magicians who can't do one well if you can

I consider a pass an advanced level move.. For me there are so many other illuisions you can perform with a deck that don't take weeks or months to master. Not to say I have givin up with the pass. Just it takes so much practice that I feel better spent mastering other effects.. Eddie

some hints earned from performing the pass, When the spectator returns the selection say something then do the pass immediately no second thoughts. That's the most logical time to do a pass they'd just see it as squaring the deck or something.
