1. EATCT: Erdnase
2. Paper Engine: Aaron Fisher 3. By Forces Ubseen: Earnest Earick 4. All the Lee Asher Booklets 5. 21st Century Toppit: David Penn 6. Practical Mental Magic: Ted Anneman 7. Dixie Doolie 3 volume Escape Series 8. Divingboard Double/Thunderbird combo download: Lee Asher 9. Panic: Aaron Fisher 10. The Holy Trinity: Jay Sankey I think If I had bought D&Ds Trilogy it might have made it in here. I have cherry picked most of the trilogy effects on the D&D on demand. I love the way they spice up old effects. Sadly I can't justify putting a instant download in a top ten...That, however, might be worthy of a new topic! Sorry, quick question. Is there a book that covers the basics of everything? I'm new to this and I want to just see the different types of tricks and what kind of effect you get at the end of the trick.( by effect I mean reading minds, vanishing something, etc)

Yes. Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. You can probably find a copy from between $20 & $30. It covers a little bit of everything and is a good starting point before you go off and drop $30-$40 on specialist books and DVDs that sometimes cover only one sleight.

Yes, I would also agree that Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic would be a good place to start.
You can get the book direct off his website for $20.00. Mark Wilson Magic - Magic Books Another suggestion would be Harlan Tarbell's Course in Magic. It will cost a bit more. Here it is on CD, Tarbell Course by Harlan Tarbell : Lybrary.com

Yes I agree that "Jay Sankey's Kaleidoscope" is him at his best. Great variety of basic effects.

Ya that DVD is killer. Something more people should really take a look at. Even pros tend to overlook silly little effects Jay has that could just bring down the house
