Default Nick, stopping by

Hello everyone!

Found this site through the exomagic tinychat room and I like the people and environment. I'm excited to see how we can advance the art of magic. I've been into magic for about 4 years now off and on, a lot more off than on. I finally decided to make a promise to myself to advance myself and to never stop practicing. I still have a lot to learn.

I hope to talk to all of you guys!

Fantastic to have you aboard, I've chatted with you a bit.

What type of magic are you looking to learn first? Whats your favorite pie too?

Right now I'm learning a variety of things. I'm pretty strong into coins, cards, bills, and rubberbands. I'm starting to really like Sean Scott effects. They have a real organic feel the them, like Modosu. And my favorite pie is pumpkin pie!

Just a moment ago I compiled a list of things I'm learning/practicing.

Here is the list I'm working on in Notepad

Cards

Two Card Monte - Performance ready/Audience tested/go-to effect
ACR -Audience tested/still customizing my ACR
Triumph - Performed/Still finding my favorite triumph version
Biddle - Performed/Performance Ready/audience tested/go-to effect
2 card transpo - Performed/Performance Ready/go-to effect
Oil and Water - Finding one I like
Extraoridinary Proof - Audience tested/Performance ready/go-to effect
Twisting Aces - Finding a version I like
Clutch - Performance ready/go-to effect/Audience tested
Stigmata - Performance ready/go-to effect/Audience tested

Coins
Coin under watch - Audience tested/Performance ready/Go-to effect
3/4 coins across- In practice
Quick Silver- Performance ready/Audience tested
Sinful-Performance ready/audience tested/Go-to effect

Bills

Time is money - In practice
5 and 1 transpo - Performance Ready/Audience tested

Rubberbands

Crazy Man's Handcuffs - Performance ready/Audience tested/go-to effect
Stairway -In practice
Raw Linkage-In practice
Jacob's Ladder-In practice

Gimmicks

I actually have performed the effect twice. I barely have time to setup effects like that with work, girlfriend, and other priorities. So as you can tell most, if not all, the effects I do are impromptu and have very little setup. Fraud is one of the most powerful bill effects I have seen today. Now that you mentioned it I'll actually have to redirect myself to using it more often.

Check out Helder Guimaraes'. His is my personal favourite.

I have modified the handling slightly though, and added a third phase; Yannick Chretien's Reflipped. (13 seconds in)

Helder's can be found on his DVD "Small Miracles", and Yannick's on his self titled DVD.

If that isn't your style then be sure to check out Malone Meets Marlo Vol. 3, there's a whole load of oil and water techniques on that DVD.

Hope that helps!

Indeed! There's a lot of oil and water techniques on that DVD. Helder's is also completely clean though.
