Default Regards from Mexico

Hi all.

A friend just told me about this magic forum, so I registered, and here I am.

I've been a professional magician for more than 20 years now, doing mostly kids parties and restaurant work.

Hope to find some friends-in-magic around the world.

Best wishes.

Glad to see ya here

What friend was that? We probably know him if he is registered here :p

How old are you? We have some older-generation magicians roaming around here and registering like crazy. So if your in the 40+ year marker lets toss another name into that magical had haha.

Generally this is the point where I ask you what your favorite pie is, but we got its own thread over at Your favourite Pie?.

See you around!

Alex means lost and wandering the halls.... Do us a favor and if we get stuck in a corner turn us around. You know throw a guy a bone!

I am really glad to say we have had quite a influx of gently used and experienced Magi lately..... (We are currently in the infiltration phase of operation 'blue hare')

I want to go to Mexico! Where exactly are you located? I am going to send you a package and you will need to open it immediately as I will be hungry!

Welcome to the Loon Bin Magokiron! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! It is a lot of fun!

@The_Outlaw: Ice cream, please, tnx.

@Alex Hess: mmm... yes, I'm with the 40+ "old school" guys I guess, so make a place for me at the asylum

Thnaks again and best wishes.

MagoIron!

I have noticed that you can tell when someone is going to make here as a regular by their intro post.... If they get a lot of responses and reply back they generally become one of the regulars. In the last three days we had you, Duder (aka outlaw) and CutNStuff. All of you guys tickled the hell of me with your responses.

I really do hope you stick around and have some fun with us here at exomagic!

BTW - You mentioned that English isn't your native language. Which is odd because your use of English grammar and spelling is exceptional (better then most, me included! I'm dyslexic - it really shows up if I get excited! LOL ). Anyways If you hadn't said anything I don't think anyone would have known.

I would hate to tell you this misj but in my intro post I followed all the rules of a "good" intro, I did what I was supposed to and I got 2 responses. One from a guy that is now inactive and the other from someone with 6 posts. No responses from anyone that is a regular on ExoMagic. I didn't even get a hello from any of the staff. What a bunch of crap faces, right?

I felt like they all hated me until I posted my variation of the 2 card monte and Jacob (Seeker) told me he liked the way I think.

Thanks Misjief.

Actually, more than 25 years ago I discovered that in my mother's language (Spanish) there weren't much printed material about magic (That was before internet and the raising of the spanish magic wave, Ascanio, Tamariz, etc.).

So I sat with my english magic book, an "english-spanish" dictionary, a pencil and a notebook to "translate" the tricks.

It took me about 20 pages and a few hours to realize that translating "Expert Card Technique" by Hugard and Braue wasn't really a good idea.

So I REALLY started to learn my english, and now most of the books I read and the forums I participate in are in english, and I ALMOST read english at the same speed than spanish.

But some pronunciations still give me some troubles, that's why I said that.

period.

And I really hope to become a regular, as I was a little down with my magic, but now I fell like a "secon wind" and I should thank this forum for that.

Best wishes.

You know what Sam... I got the same response ELSEWHERE. Some people wanted me to stay on their forums. I got emails asking me to come back. But it was like I was talking to myself. I don't have to log on to my computer to do that, for pete's sake!

I actually went out of my way to welcome the newbies because I remember the warm welcome I got here, way back when. LOL! No really you were a part of that, Sam. Thanks. I think it makes a difference. Do you remember the scene in Animal House where they segregate the cool pledges from the dredges? That what it reminds me of.

Anyways when I first started going through the intros it was kind of a chore... Then I started having fun with it, being a clown, then the laugh riot broke out. Since then I have been pushing it to see what i can get away with. LOL

Actually its funny that you said that as I have three books that I'd love to be able to read. One is in Spanish and the other two are in French. They are magic books and the pictures and diagrams look awesome! The format of the Spanish book looks better then any English magic book I have ever seen and it is 550 pages! It reminds me of Mark Wilson's book on magic, but again, I like the lay out better.

Also when I was younger I spent a lot of time isolated in a hospital bed... Books were my best friend, and I would read two or three book a day. Which is pretty wild when you consider I didn't learn I was dyslexic till after high school! I could read far above my age group BUT I still get caught to this day saying words wrong because I had read them long before I heard them spoken. Fortunately it doesn't happen very often any more but I TOTALLY understand the problem.

Finally why are you down on magic? It sounds to me you are living the dream - Making money doing what you love. I think you should go get a job working in a cannery or something for a week or two. That will straighten you out. LOL
