Hi guys
If you dont want to get your Roughing Spray from a magic store, you can find it cheaper in DIY stores under the product name "dull cote". I bought Testors' one. Testors Dull Cote 1260 flat lacquer overcoat works perfectly

Another name for the dull coat is "Matte Finish." All it is is a textured, non-shiny spray paint. Get a clear color.
My personal product of choice is Krylon brand Matte Finish clear coat. Works dreams. Make sure you spray lightly, and let the cards air our for several days to get rid of moisture and the spray paint smell.

Another alternative is to used glue sticks. Basically all you need to do is apply a thin layer of glue using glue stick at the top or the bottom of the cards you want to rough and let it dried.

Go to the dollar store and when in a pinch, grab some spray on Deodorent.
Works like a charm when you are in a new city and forgot your cards at home.

This kind of item is the BEST OPTION. I have recommended many times Krylon Matte Finish clear Spray Paint. Essentially the same thing you recommended. This is by far the best substitute for Roughing Spray. L

You have wal-marts in Japan right? I think they are called Seiyu there. Anyway if you go to the art supplies you can find a aerosol spray can of clear sealer. 2007051722404942004-1229-0908.jpg That is what mine looks like. Make sure you buy the matte finish if you buy glossy it will not work. This is a much larger can of spray than the Testor's Cut mentioned and it's the same price Or as Cut said you can find Testor's dull cote. You will find this where you would get paint for toy model cars or toy model airplanes. It is the sealer you would put on the model after you finish painting it. OR!!! You can just go here Roughing Fluid Spray by Aldini - Supplies and pick up a few decks of cards along with the spray and have them delivered to your house and not have to worry about getting the wrong spray. |

Hey Sam,
I'll have to give your stuff a try. More for less$$ sounds good to me. I wonder if the glossy finish would be good to use on homemade card gaff? Cut |
