Hi,
I need something like rubber cement until next saturday. Not later, and I looked for some of it in online-shops but it's really expensive to order. The shipping is not cheap. So, my question, does anybody know how to make own rubber cement or buy it in germany? Most important thing about the stuff I need is that is has to stuck to itself, but not to other surfaces like paper. Thanks!

i feel your pain brother. i live in Berlin, and i ve looked EVERYWHERE for the stuff. my suggestion to get it faster: Ebay in the U.K. they sell it pretty cheap (since the euro is so awesomely high right now). i cant really think of a way for you to get it quicker. maybe at a home improvement store like Bauhaus?

I also noticed that UK seller at ebay and I thought about buying there but first I do not have a paypal account and second I don't know anybody who has money on his account :/
So I suppose there is no chance to get the stuff from ebay until next saturday...

Kauf Marabu Fixogum.

Thanks erenso!
Actually, we don't speak in foreign languages in the forum (just per PN) so other users can also understand it ;-) So for those who will find this thread in 2009 and don't understand german or whatever, he writes about a stuff called "Marabu Fixogum", which one can buy at each hobbystore in germany... Well, I hope so and I will find out tomorrow ![]() But the stuff should be also available in a "spray" version, but those are more expensive and don't live a long time. And is this Fixogum really that what I am looking for? I mean that it only sticks to itself, but not to other surfaces when it's dry.

Okay, I've just been told that Marabu Fixogum is NOT what I needed... :-(
It does NOT stick to itself when it's dry. It doesn't actually stick to anything when it's dry.... Now I've got a small problem...

That's it man! That was the stuff I needed! I remember buying that "Vulcanising Solution" from a bike-shop to perform Sean Field's "Saw", but I actually failed, the stuff wasn't good for that trick.
But that's what it's useful for! When it's dry, it's dry and nothing sticks to it than another sheet of paper with the stuff on it. Thanks!

Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_cement and you understand why there is no rubber cement in the UK, Germany or US. There are always different products with differnt formulas and over the years the formula changed in every country. You are not able to find the rubber cement mentioned by Lewis Ganson or Marlo. You must really know what you need and search the right 'glue'. In former times (invention date 1900) rubber cement was common as a glue stick, but it has great disadvantages. May be I write a guide for glue in the lounge. erenso

The UK and the US sell the Rubber Cement from "Elmers", and that's the stuff the magicians use.
