Hi All-
I have never seen the gimmick for a Glorpy or Haunted Hank but I was messing around with odds and ends I have around the workshop and found that if you take a piece of street cleaner wire (Handy Stuff!) and bend the end slightly it makes quite a serviceable gimmick. Regular wire doesn't work as well because it will constantly roll to the side. I wrapped the street cleaner wire in a piece of black duct tape to darken it and take the sharp edges off it so I don't damage my devils hank I plan to use with it. Street cleaner wire is simply a STRONG FLAT piece of steel wire. I don't know where to get it other then cruise the gutters and you will quite often find a piece or two here in the states *** If you take a file to it you can make a set of lock picks... Templates are available on the internet, all you really need is a hook on one end and a rake on the other plus a tension wrench. I am good enough, that I don't even bother filing them I just use the rounded end as a pick. - although I probably could cut my time down if I did. Bic pen make great handles if you are making a set you are not trying to hide or a great container if you are! Just pop off the end and glue in the blade or slide it in and replace the cap! !!Warning getting caught with these in some states is a crime!! Or as it is you can use it to open hand cuffs - slide it in between the hasp and the teeth of the handcuffs! As long as it is not double locked this will work. Same technique can be used on doors for closets and the like - just slide blade down the crack of the door. If the door knob has a hole in the center you can push the blade into it and open the door as well (Safety Feature - not a security one!) I often take a knife sharpener to one edge to make a crude knife then push them into the seams of my jean's pant legs. Then I have a lock pick, hand cuff opener and rope cutter for any 'escape' situation. (I wanted to be an escape artist when I was younger and that habit stuck!) LOL Not sure how useful this is but wanted to share it with you... -misj- |
