ExoMagic Cards?

Hello!

I just got off the phone with the USPCC (US Playing Card Company). I think its official, ExoMagic is going to release a "special edition" deck to compete with Theory11 and ***********. We are ordering a minimum of 10,000 decks! WOW!, our shop is going to be packed!

We want your help on creating a design!

So after I take a dip into my savings, I am going to put a deposit down. I am going to meet up with the USPCC CEO and we are going to come up with a new custom design that will blow Theory11 and *********** out of this world!

We currently have a color scheme, but no idea on how the backs are going to look. Since we want to create the cards for magic/XCM we are going to put extra effort in making sure there is JUST the right coating on the cards. We want these as smooth as possible! We are going to also check, and double check to make sure these cards are usable for magic. The edges will all align and match so there isn't a change of visibility on double lifts etc...

Some of the classic Bicycle faces will be getting a makeover also! We will be re-designing the Jokers and the Ace of Spades! (of course). We will also be including a double backed card for ya and some surprise gaffs.

I would really like some feedback on a design. The current color scheme I feel that would be good to run with would be another 'dark' look. People seem to really enjoy the Viper/Tiger/Guardian decks. I was thinking we would make it with a White/Red face (Similar to the Black Tigers/Vipers) and a very unique back. So don't be shy! Sick!I think that the cards should be on the darker side and maybe you can do a crazy deck with like...blue pips?Im just trying to come up with something different than what E and Theory11 already have.I think dark blue pips would be awesome and for the back maybe twisting type of effect.

We could make one joker like some crazy alien and the other a crazy alien revealing a card like the 4 of hearts or something, kind of like the shadow masters deck comes with .
It sounds kind of weird but I don't see any other decks with aliens for jokers .

I like Dal33t's idea, with blue pips. It would make it look the card look so very sweet. Maybe an ice blue, or something (Flaming anime blue, Maybe?)

As for designing, who is going to be designing the cards? Professional arteests or could we help. I could help with that, if needed.

The backs: Hmm... I'm really thinking a vortex of blue flames on black would look hella sweet. Cards themselves should definitely be black.

Jokers: I like the idea of a demonic joker, like him (or her, haven't seen a female joker yet) be dancing in blue flames, or something.

Face cards: I suggest making whatever face cards there are be the same color as the pips, hearts, clubs, or spades that the face is on. (I.e. if the pips are flaming anime blue, make the king flaming anime blue as well.)

Ace o' Spades: Again, going with a demonic firey look, make the Ace a big blue flame, maybe with little tongues of flames coming off.

Gaff'd cards: I dunno if these are up for suggestions, but I think it''d be cool if one of the face cards was a gory old zombie/demon/skeleton. It'd be cool to have the king o' spades on top, give it a rub, and it changes to the corpse of spades.


If you need any help designing, I could help with maybe the ace or the back. Oh, and if you need a beta tester for your cards, I can do that too!

Thanks for all your feedback! The cards are going to cost roughly $8,000. So they are definitely down the road! WAY in the future. However I received some price quotes for the design.

We are hiring a graphic-design firm for all the designs. It is going to cost $800 for 3 cards to be custom made (Joker, the backs, and the box). The faces I want to leave the same (regular bicycle standards), however I am loving the pip color idea. Maybe make the Diamonds and Hearts red and the others blue?

Dunno. Love the idea on the demonic joker also! That may be something to follow. The flaming back designs seems like a pretty solid idea too, but we would need to add more things to intertwine into that idea.

More feedback anyone?

You guys realize, in order for these to be used for illusions, the backs have to be symmetrical both horizontally and vertically.

That's why I suggested a vortex of flames; can be made to be symmetrical.

Hmmm.... What can go with flames...

Maybe make it look like a couple o' doomed souls are flying around, so it looks like the River Styx. If you want opposite of T11, you got it; they're guardians are angels, and we're going to hell!

also, will these cards have "exomagic" on them? Perhaps on the A of Spades, but i cannot imagine how it would be put on the back sides.

I think they shouldn't have exomagic on the cards. the box, sure, but not the cards.

For example, the black tiger deck doesn't say lack tiger anywhere but on the box.

Agreed, the cards will have no "logo" of ExoMagic unless we found a way to intertwine it into the back design (which I don't want to do).

I did however want to slap it on the box and the jokers. But instead of "ExoMagic" which is a tad long, I was thinking of just straight "Exo".

i have an idea.What if the backs of the cards were completely black with shades of dark grey and dark blue?And they of course had the standard rider back design
i also love the idea of having blue or even green pips
as far as the jokers are concerned why dont you take a look at eLGreCo's avatar.Thats a gr8 joker imo.We could have something that looks like that one.

Love the input, however I would NEVER EVER put anime on any of my cards. I would rather kill myself then that! lol

When I talked to the lady at US Playing Card Company, she told me I had to totally re-design the card. The backs cannot look anything like the regular bicycle backs. It cannot break any copyright laws.

you know what.. shall we have a THEME for the deck
that might make every design looks unite and when others sees the deck they will impress..
for example, mystery or secret or something else
mixture of intelligence, genuine and have the sense of heroic
