This thread is specifically for the back designs, if you have an idea, post it! Maybe make a sketch, or a detailed description. Remember; the card stock colour was decided to be white, so base your designs around that. I'll be posting an idea of mine soon, in the meantime, any opinions on what it should look like?

I think it would be a good idea to make these cards extraordinary. I mean, compare Wynn card backs to Bikes. Bicycle backs look very odd and there's too much drawn on them. They look like casual playing cards, which can be marked.
Wynns are very simple, but I think they are really beautiful. They are very empty and that makes them perfect for magic. The spectator doesn't get the feeling of getting cheated because the cards look very trustful. So I suppose to keep the exo-card backs very simple but beautiful.

Agreed. No 'Pictures" if you know what I mean. A design, yes, but don't print out some complicated photo of a design. I say we come up with an official ExoMagic logo and place it on the back much like you would find with Wynns or Jerry's Nuggets, deep beautiful color on the back with the simple logo placed on it.

I disagree. I think complexity truly shows how high-quality the cards are. I find Wynns quite boring actually. We can show our cards as magnificent by having many designs on them. Of course, there will be a subtle one-way back...

I'd like to see a complex back design. If you don't mark the deck then you can let your spectators examine them afterwards, but I believe that the possibility of using a marking system should be in place even if most of us (myself included) don't use marked decks. We also have to consider all the aspects of what these cards will be used for. Flourish routines or magic involving flourishes looks better with fancy cards. And a complex back design is another layer of misdirection, your sleights will be hidden better if your audience is trying to figure out if the cards are marked or not.

Misdirection is not always that useful. To make somebody look at your cards you need something really special... Noone will really notice an unusual deck of cards (I mean an exo-deck) if it just looks like all the other decks out there. I would be too similar to an ordinary bike-deck.

i suggest having a simple design in full opacity then have a half opacity complicated design on the back
edit: 5 minute design to show my idea.

Yeah, it's a great concept, try to play with red-black colors, because of the exo-magic scheme.

Yea, try to mingle in the Tragic Royalty colors into that idea. That has potential to look so mean you won't want to touch them...

Sorry but that's just a usual bicycle card in blue... We are talking about new designs and unusual card backs.
Kaito, try to get a red color in your design. I'm sure that will improve the look of the card and will just fit the idea of an official exo-magic design!

Yep, like kischiman said, we need brand new designs. It shouldn't look like an edited bike deck. (If we do that, the USPCC gets to sue us for copyright infringement, and stuff.)
Also like what Kischiman said (he's on a roll right now, lol) the general consensus is that the card backs should have a white stock with a red and black design. My design should be up by tonight, just need to hook up my scanner and stuff. Unfortunately, I managed to water damage the original sketch I had enough to make it useless (left it in my pants pocket, then went swimming), so I whipped up another, less polished one. So I'm going to be uploading that one instead.
