Purchase the effect Zap (Book and DVD) by Hon Wong and Gordon Fang-Wong @ the ExoMagic Shop - Zap (Book and DVD) by Hon Wong and Gordon Fang-Wong - DVD
The Effect Can you Zap? Zapping is a type of "hypnotic induction" that utilizes techniques developed by Master Hypnotist Hon Wong and his son Gordon Fang-Wong. Hon and Gordon teamed up with Jay Noblezada to further refine the technique. Sought out by many of today's top hypnotists and NLP practitioners, The Zap is the fastest induction ever created. The Zap enables the performer to perform an instant induction on a total stranger within 30 seconds of meeting. There's no lengthy pre-talk, music, or lights. This is a hypnosis in its purest form. Imagine shaking someone's hand and watching them hit the ground like a sack of potatoes, HYPNOTIZED! 100% Safe, this process has been tested, perfected and kept secret for years! How fast? Read this: Many hypnotists will claim to be "the world's fastest", but they don't start keeping track of time until after they've done a lengthy "pre-talk". When you include the pre-talk, most hypnotic inductions take anywhere from 5-15 minutes--even if they look instant. Hon and Gordon walk up to complete strangers on the street and hypnotize them in under 30 seconds! That's the fastest in the world. Hon and Gordon have issued an open invitation to anyone who thinks they can hypnotize faster. The DVD The DVD is over 2 Hours Long and features RAW and UNCUT footage of The Zap being performed in public--completely impromptu. Hon and Gordon zap people everywhere they go. You'll love the in-depth interviews, detailed explanations, and TONS of performance footage! PLUS: a Through-the-TV hypnosis session! Hon Wong hypnotizes you right through the TV screen, giving you the power to Zap! The Technique
Zapping is effective! Many people stop performing hypnosis because they don't know how to do it, or simply don't believe it's possible. The Zap isn't just hypnosis. It's a brand new concept that works. Hon Wong has a 100% success rate with The Zap. So does his son Gordon. Jay Noblezada learned The Zap in 2 minutes, and hasn't failed since! Every student at NX08 was able to perform The Zap within minutes of learning it. And now you will be able to do the same. (Footage from NX08 is included on the DVD!) Zapping is fun! Spectators LOVE to get hypnotized. The reactions and comments you'll get are priceless! And you'll be having just as much or more fun than your audience. Who's it for? Don't know a thing about hypnosis? No need to worry. You'll be learning everything directly from the creators of the Zap. Hon and Gordon will teach you everything you need to know to get off the ground with your first hypnotic induction! Are you a magician looking for something new and fresh to add to your act? Zapping is visually unparalleled by any magic trick. Crowds will stop to watch you do this. You'll be asked to do it again and again. The Reputation you get as a hypnotist is HUGE! Learn how to Zap today! Searching for a step up in your performing career as a magician? Ready to make more money? FACT: Many hypnotists make thousands of dollars per hour. Find out why. Learn exactly how you can do it too! Learn inside secrets on how you can add hypnosis to your existing act and make a killing! This info is worth 10 times the price of the DVD! "Lets go out and zap some people." -- Gordon Fang-Wong "I've seen it with my own two eyes. And I had to learn it!!! After Hon and Gordon shared the secret with me at NX08, I've been performing it sparingly, only in times I felt deserved such an act. But it's no act. It's the real thing. And it works every time-ALL OF THE TIME for me. Thanks for sharing this with all of us!" -- Noblezada, Purpose Driven Magic First of all this is truly unbelievable. I don't think this is possible in any way until the person you are doing to is a stooge. If it is real, i think this is a MUST for every magician.

OK, I have now got a revised opinion. Basically, this effect seems, to me, an utter load of shit. I'll explain why. To see what I mean:
Do you still want to ZAP? Thanks to the Magic Cafe for the inspiration for this post

I was going to pitch in with some people to buy this technique, but I might just search online and learn simple arm pull inductions instead!

Ok. This is NOT an effect. This is a technique for those who already have a foot in the door with hypnosis. This may even require a legit license in the right medical practices for you to be legal using it. This is a technique for those who already know what is going on, not just a plaything for those who want to dabble in the esoteric.
Unless any one of you already have hypnosis experience, this is not for any one of us. That is why it costs so much. That is why you have to be 21 to get it. That is why there is layer upon layer of warning attached to this. Not because it is a gimmick, it is because this is a serious tool for a serious performer.

I was always thinking of entering hypnosis. What worries me is that it tells us this:
Quote:
And the layer upon layer of warning doesn't really look too good when the bloke's 12-year-old-ish son is Zapping people all over the place and he himself is hypnotising his daughter like it's a joke:

Hi All-
I went and 'borrowed' a copy of zap from a friend who wanted me to teach him after he failed with it - He lost the DVD but I got a hold of the book. I wrote a length review but my laptop fouled and rebooted... Probably better this way... because the rewrite will be more concise anyways. First off let me say I am certified by the NGH as a hypnotherapist. Further more I have used hypnosis most of my life to deal with the pain from a birth defect. When I broke my good legs femur in four places while riding my mountain bike in a remote area I was able to get to help through the use of hypnosis. I have no doubt it works, nor in my abilities in that area (with myself). As a result of that accident I was individually trained in a couple styles of martial arts by a world champion for several years. I consider him the father I never really had. I consider myself a mediocre martial artist at best, when compared to a serious student. Having said that you have to consider where we both started - I started in a wheel chair. I can now walk, run and snowboard because of it. I bring it up so to make clear in these area I DO KNOW what I am talking about. Zap has some good material in it - and In my longer lost review I covered them. But it didn't take long because there wasn't much there. The whole book is 36 pages and there are blank pages and wide margins. I am willing to bet if I reformatted it - I'd get a dozen pages max. The chapter covering the actual technique is a single page within the book it asks you to refer to the DVD which I find ass backwards as usually the DVD has the demo and the book covers the finer details. As I said I don't have the DVD but it is not a good indicator. No where in the book does it cover how to handle abreactions [Important!!} - and the info that it does contain is pretty skimpy at best. The book itself says 'ONLY 7% of the people who buy this manual will be able to do the effect... ' Implying the defect is in the student not the teacher. THAT WOULD REALLY PISS ME OFF to read that in the book rather then the adverts after I plunked down my hard earned cash and that statement alone should deter anyone from buying this inferior product. The SINGLE SMALL PAGE on technique can be broken into two and in this case contradicting areas. Control and Safety. Control The tips given emphasis the use of a two handed grip on the offered hand in a manner any martial artist will immediately recognize. Secondly it implies a {gentle} pull, using 2-3 inches as a guide to do so. BAD ADVICE! (see below) Safety With a pull of a violent and sudden nature 2-3 inches would be far more then sufficient to cause severe injury to a joint. There are too many x factors, such as angles and the heights of the participants to get specific, but chances of injury from this alone are pretty good. Quote: "...Keep hold of their hand (with both hands) and guide them down safely and gently...", "Always point out a SAFE Landing spot...." STOOOOOOOOPID! A great recipe for disaster! It is physically IMPOSSIBLE to safely support a falling individual by the use of their hand alone, in fact you are liable to cause injury by twisting their arm in the attempt. Next take the length of your arm and add the length of their arm and see if they don't have enough rope to crack their skulls [especially if you bend over and strain your back, which is the tendency if you are not properly trained in take downs. <-This is NOT mentioned anywhere!] If they are really lucky you will fall on top of them, and put a elbow or knee somewhere unfortunate. Watch carefully as the participant tries to improperly catch their fall with their free arm and in doing so severely injures it, because you were being a complete jack ass! You have at least four or five good solid shots at it... I'd say chance of someone getting hurt is pretty good. They'd probably be safer if you simply tackled them! You know what?!? ... It would be faster too. Tip: - Thrust your head right into the solar plexus (or kibbies)! The text goes on to say never perform ZAP! with a individual who is injured (physically or mentally). Hmm. How are you suppose to know this? I have known people for weeks when they suddenly notice I have a severe limp. Now this is due to the fact I have good and bad days - that & the fact that people generally have poor sensory acuity. Remember you are doing the 'Worlds fastest (and most violent) induction' to a complete stranger with 30 seconds to 2 minutes on the clock! The Author recommends you ask within the script. A great plan BECAUSE - A mentally unstable person is likely to tell you they are NuTz, and a injured one will be comfortable (or aware) enough to reveal his medical info to a complete stranger. Also the script hypnotically suggests they fall safely. OK. Wait a min. IF THEY knew HOW to fall safely this might work, but my experience as a martial artist is that is not the case. Most people do not know how to fall safely - even though they may believe the do. This sets up both the participant and the hypnotist for a long fall... and neither know it! This is suppose to be a book for newbs yet it really sets up some bad premises that are likely to linger and get them neck deep into seriously smelly stuff. "No more jumping on the bed" [as seen in the video] - is hypnotically equivalent to MORE jumping on the bed as negatives are dropped. A Basic Core principle rule and he doesn't seem to know it. I can go on but why bother. If there is a single rat pellet in a batch of cookie dough - would you eat it? Does it matter the ratio of rat doodie to dough - maybe if I added more chocolate chips? The point is there is a big fat stinker in the middle of this cookie. Do I really need to weigh it out for you? The long and short of it is - I CAN'T recommend it especially at the the ridicules cost of $150. Anthony Jaquin and Igor Legowski (?) have some great stuff at similar or better pricing. At worst you'd be way better off getting an basic induction off the internet. You'd keep your 150 bucks in your pocket - plus save the hassle of a the pending lawsuit just waiting to pounce on the person silly enough to try this. Just my opinion! Yes, it is a strongly biased one, and I probably went overboard on the details BUT I wanted to be very clear this is idiotic at best, and likely to sully the art of hypnosis. -misj- Last edited by Misjief; 02-28-2010 at 02:24 PM. |
