OOh. Or you could do the crazy db effect where he grabs the girls teeth and then blows them back into her mouth, only take just the ring off her finger that she has and blow this one back on....I think Darren Brown did something like that and performed it like voodoo!

As for the proposal idea goes, I have a feeling Seeker got this one down pat. The simplistic idea is 'simply' brilliant. It does what magic is supposed to do, provides some misdirection and leads the spectator to believe something completely different than the final outcome.

K-I-S-S (Keep-it-simple-stupid) is a motto I follow quite a bit. I think something very simple as you have already established like:

Setting: Take her to the city or somewhere nice you feel would be a good place to propose. Possibly take a trip with her and go to all the 'key' places in your relationship in one day. Be like "this is where we first met-->go to next place-->This is where we first kissed-->go to next place, and so on" until you get to the PERFECT place and sit down and ask her if she remembers 'this' place. Obviously she won't, and then pull out a deck of cards.

Tell her you want to show her an amazing new trick you have been practicing for ever. Open the box up and have it empty except for the ring. Get on your knee and place the ring on her finger and say "This ring will never come off as long as you still have my hear" then propose, or on those lines.

I'm not usually the 'squishy' type to conjure up good love lines

Yes, I am pretty sure that idea is a winner. It is magic, but not the kind of magic that will take away from the moment. Just enough distraction to take her mind elsewhere for a few moments before I give her the ring.


And her name is Melissa. If I can find a good picture (we don't have many pictures for some reason...) I'll throw it on here. If any of you have facebook, feel free to add me, most of our pictures are on there anyway... Just be Hush about it on my wall. She checks it daily for little information leaks, haha.

This is not to say that the contest is completely over yet. If someone else has an idea, still post it. The main idea I use (of course if I use it, and I will very likely use Seeker's idea) will get a 1/2 brick of Massas, but anyone else who throws in a considerably influential idea that I combine with the main idea will also be rewarded.

You have till Friday night when I check ExoMagic back home in SD the night before.

Maybe we ought to toss this to the Academy just in case... She knows there is a magic website I am on all the time but doesn't likely remember its name.

I just did my own google search and this thread does not appear yet. She could find this site, but not this thread unless she came snooping through the forums. I think we are good. Besides, my previous misdirection should be more than enough to cover things.

Completely depends on the weather. I may take her to a beach were we hung out after we first met ages ago on the lake. I want it to be outside, but the weather looks like it might not cooperate. If not, I may postpone a couple days to wait for the moment.
