Did you not read what Lyle posted? It specifically says that you need 10 (ten) posts. You currently only have 8 (eight). I have removed the ones that did not meet our forum requirements.

You now currently have 1 (one) post due to the disarray of posts you made. Your posts where short, did not have any relevant information, and where actually answered by others in that thread.

Please re-read the rules and insure you understand how to properly post and articulate your topics.

What we expect here is not posting just to post. Your posts need to have real content. Don't just thank someone or say you like a trick. You need to have a real reason. Ask a question, make an observation, give an idea, tell us the way you do something. That is what we expect. We try not to be hard on people, but the academy is for people who contribute to this community.

Hi Lyle,
I've got more than 10 posts and I don't have the "Academy Tab" as you described it earlier in these posts. At the outset, I saw choice of two big clickable signs: The one on the left was for the Store and on the right, The Academy. Is this what you've been referring to?

Not withstanding the kinks in the system, I think that you have a wonderful site here. I really look forward to the experience of others, especially in sourcing materials for gimmicks/effects etc.

Hi Lyle,

Just for the record, I noticed a very subtle "Welcome to the Academy" in the "Reply to Thread" window at the top of the box BUT BELOW the "UserCP", "FAQ", "Members List" etc column boxes. If you go by what is on the first page of posts, it would suggest that there should be a box like "FAQ" in that row but that doesn't occur.

As far as "bump" posts, I think you should expect that when people are given a challenge to reach in order to actually participate in things like "the academy". It might be better (even if more of a pain in the backside) to consider member approval by the moderator or a small group/committee charged with that responsibility. That way, people won't have to play games to get to what they perceive to be "The Good Stuff"

Likewise, after a person becomes a member, unless they do something (either a post (s) or the other items you mentioned), they should probably be allowed to progress in the forum as a functioning member. There will always be lurkers who may be reluctant to post but who will benefit the group wisdom (even if they only contribute periodically).

Anyway, hope this observation is useful. I wouldn't have known I was in "The Academy" except for a close look at the top line. Maybe a color change would help!

This should be relevant to the effect, and should have the effect name in the title. Please don't title your thread "OMG...", A good example is "Card Happening by Sanada" (Thanks iezama for the use of your thread title )

What can/can't I post? Where do you draw the line?
We know exactly where our stance is on copyrighted effects. We feel that as long as it is not exclusively published work it is alright. We will also allow the reference of specific sleights, such as top change or bottom palming. The explanations of such sleights, belong exclusively in The Academy, as long as they are not exclusively published.

*Addition* Posting YouTube videos of other people performing tutorials is against the board rules. You may post your own filmed tutorial of a public change/sleight but nothing that is copyright or published by a specific company.


Tutorials:
Again, we will not tolerate the exposure of creator specific gimmicks/exclusively published gimmicks. In other words: We won't tolerate exposure of "Sweetly Done" by Shane Black, however, tutorials on "How to make your own double backer" are alright with us.

Requests:
If you are posting a tutorial as to how to make a gimmick, try to make it as professional as possible. Please keep spelling mistakes to a minimum, and try to use proper grammar. No one wants to read a paragraph of text that has no punctuations.
