I always wear a shirt, whether its a formal shirt in a smart situation, or a checkered shirt in a casual situation.
The reason for this is because firstly shirts are always smarter and more presentable than t-shirts or vests, but most importantly you can roll up your sleeves. About 80% of people I perform for say "But you don't even have sleeves" and I believe that statement significantly strengthens my magic.
I don't know why but people seem to notice that you don't have sleeves more so when your wearing a rolled up shirt, than when wearing a t-shirt. I guess it may be because of the fact that you could have sleeves but you've specifically rolled them up in order not to.
