I agree, that fame and performance as a child can change the whole way the child interacts and exists. But if she is gifted, then that SHOULD be nurtured...right?

I've to agree by heart.
I have a friend that now is a renowned doctor, but when he was young, he was a WONDERFUL ping-pong player, and had the opportunity to go with the national team (Mexico) to Japan for an international competition, but his father didn't granted him permission "because he was going to loose the semester".
Man! I really think the for a youngster the opportunity to go to such a beautiful country, meet places, people, culture, etc. IS MUCH MORE VALUABLE than a school semester.
But then... Now he can travel anywhere he wants, and actually some universities around the worl call him for lectures, as he has discovered parts of the cell that nobody has seen before, but he still remember his "lost opportunity" to travel when he was young.
To answer your question: No, I will travel the world with my kids, if I got the chance.
NEVER is too late to go to school, no matter your age, but there are certain things that you better do when you're young.
Best wishes.
