Member of the Month of January 2010 :Misjief!

First I would like to thank all members who were active this month. After all its not only one person that makes up this site but all of us. Thus said, there are still some of those individuals who make a big difference and which make it THAT MUCH more fun to be here...

Misjief has been here and has shown his support time in and time out. He has done quite a bit since he came on board. He's started and shared a number of ideas on gimmick construction, created the Magic Principles thread which we are working to expound upon, and has been very helpful with advice in the field and has been an overall nice guy (member) to those on the forum, and in tinychat.. We have spotted him assisting users and just being part of what makes ExoMagic us. So post a response in this thread, congradulate him, and have some fun!

Thus said we have decided Misjief is the MOM of March.

What is this Member of the Month thing?!?

Abstract :
There will now be a MEMBER OF THE MONTH PRIZE draw, everyone is as a regular member is admissible. The prize will be an award icon and in some cases tangible prizes. Members Alex Hess and Brandon are in charge of the development of this contest. All members of ExoMagic.com are defacto participating in this contest. The Member of the Month (A.K.A : MOM) will be selected through participation on ExoMagic.com.

To make things clearer here are some traits that the MOM could have :

Good forum participation
Pertinent posts (Example : A user who thought of a great thread)
Publication of Articles
Quality of the Articles
Publication of Reviews
Quality of the Reviews
Publication of Academy videos
Quality of Academy videos/reviews
Answers other member's requests
Shares his knowledge of magic to the community

The MOM will not necessarily be the most active member however. The MOM will be randomly selected among those who were considered by the contest administrators (Lyle & Alex) to be the most qualified in the past month.

By this prize we wish to thank the communities most active members and encourage everyone to participate actively on the forum. Mc Donald's has an employee of the month but ExoMagic's Member of the Month is far less CHEESY (Wow! That was a double layered joke... think about it.)

All in all, we want to thank all members for their participation.

Exo, Dotti, USAnarchy, and Mindslur had an online meeting and brainstormed about a different amelioration that could be added to make the site more appealing. Being an intricate motivator towards user participation we decided to begin a MEMBER OF THE MONTH PRIZE! and thus we discussed about various possible prizes that could be given out.

Many very good ideas came out as we discussed, some of which might be included in the future prizes. We wanted good prizes that members would enjoy having. Also, we wanted to ensure the prize's shipping cost to a minimum while having a maximum of value for its size and weight. Among other ideas we thought of : gimmicked cards, invisible thread, card decks, rubber deck pull-hookups, wrap-it up bubble gum trick by Jay Sankey, gimmicked coins (Ex : bite-out coins), stand up monte, color monte, ultimate monte, svengali deck, stripper deck...

Our choice ended on a deck of Tally-ho cards because not everyone has a deck like this: it's design is neat and they are very good cards for card manipulations. This prize is of course pending on the particular months budget. Please review the titling prize information to see exactly what is applicable. Prizes are tentative and may alter during times.
