Default David Blaine Split Spades (2008 1st Edition)

Hello everyone,

I decided to write a pretty little review on these delights. So please review the images and my review and let me know what you think!

Please note: Looking to grab your own? Grab them at our TEMPORARY shop at:

Well, as I received these and started unwrapping it, I must admit, the box looked phenomenal. Very unique and attractive design, I honestly couldn't wait to see the backs! However, once opened and pulled out I was dissappointed as they were bland, unattractive, and looked gimmicked! When I sifted through the cards this is what I found:

Black Deck:
  • 2 new jokers
  • Riddle card
  • Newly designed ace
  • Double backed gaff card
Blue Deck
  • 2 new jokers
  • Riddle card
  • Newly designed ace
Red Deck:
  • 2 new jokers
  • Riddle card

The Review:
As I started messing with these cards I couldn't help but notice how familiar this deck felt (and not in a bad way). This deck glided through my hands while sticking together. They sprung and fanned awesomely. They also did a fantastic job faro shuffling. It was then when I noticed the left side was rough and the right side was not. The only other deck I know that is like this is the Tally-Ho deck. Then it hit me! These are on Tally-Ho stock. I took out a new deck of Tally-Ho's and compared them side by side, they are identical other then the backs.

I would have to give the quality of the deck a 8/10 due to the fact that I feel the backs of these cards suck. Very bland and look gimmicked. I showed 3 customers this deck in person and the first question they asked was "Is this a gimmick/trick deck?"

I then went out to the city. As I started performing with these playing cards I had a lot of risen eyebrows. People did not like the site of these cards. After about an hour of these decks I repeated my same routines to different people but with a regular Tally-Ho deck and received MUCH better reactions.

So for $8.99 USD is this deck worth it? Yeah, but only to have the deck. I don't recommend performing unless you feel you can incorporate it into your routine. I would also advise you to not invest in a bunch of these, they are steep for the style, just stick to the Tally-Ho decks which are given a full 10/10 and only $3.99USD.
